I graduated from my RE yesterday at 7w1d and called today to make an appt. with my OB. At my practice they like for you to see different doctors instead of just one each time. With my last pregnancy I saw the same doctor every time since there were four babies and he was more experienced in that area.
Before I explained to the lady on the phone that I only feel comfortable with the doctor I was seeing before, she wanted to make an appointment for tomorrow with another doctor. Then she said with the doctor I want to see the first available appt isn't until July 22nd.
Now I know that's not that far away but I will be 11 weeks then and it seems late to me for a first OB appt. Maybe it's not but I would feel much more comfortable getting in a little sooner.
The reason I'm against seeing a different doctor is because after I lost my quads, he told me what we would do differently next time which would be weekly cervical checks and progesterone shots starting at a certain week. I'm afraid other doctors won't do that.
Would you all just wait till the 22nd for my doctor or make the first appointment with another? I'm thinking about trying to call back tomorrow and seeing if maybe they could get me in a little sooner with mine.
Sorry this got a little long!

Re: When was your first OB appt?
I would personally wait. After my loss I'd met with an MFM to discuss what we'd do in future pregnancies and came up with a plan.
When I got pregnant, that MFM didn't have an opening until I was 12 weeks. I decided to wait but had the office schedule my NT scan so I didn't miss the window.
My practice also has a similar "policy" of rotating patients with all doctors and that was perfectly fine with me but that initial appointment, I wanted to make sure all these orders and plan of action were put in my file by that particular MFM.
But I'm very impatient and I couldn't imagine waiting that long. Especially being so early. GL with your decision!
