How's your kitty? No update so I assume everything ok? I kept meaning to post this on Sunday! Concert did me in

Thanks for checking on me! Actually, they first thought she had hyperthyroidism and ran some blood tests. They were positive that was it. But on Tuesday, the blood test results came back with a curve ball showing her thyroid was great but her blood glucose was very high, indicating diabetes. I wrote about it in my most recent blog post: www.wishingonasnowflake.com. 

They did an additional test and we are waiting on the results today, but it really does look like diabetes at this point which means I am going to learn how to give her insulin injections twice a day and test her blood sugar by pricking her ear. It's pretty overwhelming, but I'm glad it's something that is treatable.

Oh nooo...poor kitty! Not sure I could give my cat shots but I guess you have to do it...no other choice. I have to turn my head when he is getting a shot at the vets.. lol. Is she herself...like still eating and playing? Hope she feels better and gl on the shots!

Kenny concert was too hot! Couldn't even get a buzz needed to drink water! Pp trying to ban him from Pittsburgh because the parking lots were trashed...it was bad. Can't understand these kids who can't throw away their garbage!! Just ruin it for the rest of us. Oh and I guess we are all "hillbillies" who go to his concert...grrrr

My cat had diabetes too.  The medicine was a godsend for her, she lived several more years after her diagnosis, to a ripe old age.  And it was shockingly easy to administer--she was a tempermental cat, but amazingly didn't seem to mind at all.  Maybe she associated the starting of the shots with the feeling so much better?   Also, the injection is a piece of cake, not challenging to administer at all--much easier than what you've already done for you, I bet!  

 Anyway, I just wanted to tell you my positive experience. Best wishes for your kitty!

Yeah, she's mostly herself but she's dropped so much weight. One third of her weight in only a few short months. Poor baby....

I'm sorry it was so hot. I don't do well in the heat either. And littering totally infuriates me. I agree, that would have been upsetting.

This is very reassuring! I'm sure you know how I feel worrying about how all of this is going to actually play out. I'm terrified of doing something wrong, or coming home and finding out she's in hypo shock or something. I appreciate the reassurement and I'm so glad your kitty did well.  These little creatures bring us so much love and joy.
