Preterm labor

At the hospital for preterm labor. I went in for 30 wk chk and they discovered my cervix went from 4 cm to less than 1 .5 in less then two weeks. Put me I. Monitor and was having contractions a every 23 minutes! WHAT? I wasn't having pain. Just tightening like BH. Anyway. Last night started steroid shots, given meds for stopping contractions and IV fluids. Saw high risk specialist today and I will be on bed rest and periodic monitoring till babies arrive. Not sure of it will be home or hospital. Waiting for final decisions still. One more steroid shot tonight. Prob med for contractions and maybe prog suppositories. I will be 31 wks tomorrow. Praying for another 4 at least!!!!

I'm sorry you have to go through this. If you don't post there already, the high risk board has many of us ladies on bed rest. It's a great place for support.

Sending good vines your way! I had ptl at 25 weeks, was 3 cm dilated and 80 effaced. They were convinced I would go before 28 weeks. Made it to 34 and change on strict bedrest. Hope it works out for you and 31 weeks is still pretty good if they do come.

At 30 weeks went in for my appointment and was 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. I was given the same medicines as you and with Bedrest made it to 35 weeks. My Girls weighted 4.7 and 5.4. Smaller Baby spent 12 days in  NICU just or feeding issues and Zbaby B spent 6 das for feeding issues!! Good luck....you an do it!

They are looking for regularity and that they last at least 45 sec each on the contractions. So confusing.
