It's hard to have designated baby naming time with my SO. When he works, I'm at school or doing things around the house. When I'm at work he is cooking dinner and putting the 6yo down for bed. We have Saturday mornings together and sometimes all of Sunday.. But it seems like ever since we've found out I was pregnant our life has been go, go, go! Finals week in college, working full time, moving to new house, cleaning and painting old house.
Anyways, the only thing we've decided is a name with two syllables because SO, DS, and I have two syllables ... We're both ready to have a name picked out but it seems it will take a long time.
Re: Tough stuff.
We used the interwebs to help us as well.
DH travels a lot for work, so we started a google spreadsheet that we both have access to, and then added to and reviewed that when it was convenient for us individually. When we did happen to see each other, we could talk in person. Many of our name-related conversations also took place chatting online or via text.
Good luck!
I make lists, text it to him complete with the reasons why I like the name, he says no to most, and then I try and bring it up when we're together.
He mostly says things like "I don't know. It's so hard. I can't even think right now, once the old house is done we will have more time."
And it's true. I think once the old house is done we will both have more time. And also when he gets that promotion hopefully.
We do have plenty of time, but we've both said "I'm ready!"
