Talk to me about bikini waxing

This is embarrassing, but I've never had one done. Is that embarrassing or par for the course?

I think I want to have it done before our upcoming beach trip. I actually just watched a YouTube clip on what to expect (preparedness, ya'll) but any other words of warning or shocked expressions that I've waited this long?

A bikini wax is NBD. The first time hurts the most but it's not "zomg I wanna die" painful, just "holy shitz ouch that stings". try to make sure the hair isn't super long, 2 weeks growth if you normally shave is usually fine. If you don't shave or trim or anything I recommend a quick trim with scissors. Go to a salon or spa, not a cheap nail place. Don't shower or workout for 12-24 hours after (to avoid getting anything in the hair follicle depending on how sensitive your skin is), and exfoliate every day after day 2 to avoid ingrown hairs. That's all my opinion. I've been waxing my full legs and bikini for a decade but now I go for brazillians too. Had to work up to those suckers. Going back every 6 weeks or so is recommended, the hair grows back slower and finer as time goes on. Enjoy the results.

If you're not getting a Brazilian wax- when they ask you what you want done, how do you word it?  What should I say?

I get a bikini plus the back. I have her leave a landing strip. Just tell her what you want it to look like and where you want waxed. These people are professionals, don't be shy!

Yup! Even when I skip a full brazillian I opt for the back, that doesn't hurt one little bit! It's by far the least sensitive area, funny enough.
