What's your favorite crock pot recipe? I really want to do a couple crock pot meals this week. Anyone have any good recommendations? We're not picky eaters, we will eat pretty much anything.
We do 2 lbs of ground meat (any kind, we usually do a combo for 80/20 beef and ground turkey breast), brown it, put in pot.
Add one large onion, diced. Then dice up whatever peppers you like. We usually do a combo of green and orange bell peppers, poblanos, jalapenos, hungarian wax peppers... really just whatever looks good at the grocery and isn't soooo spicy.
Then add a can of diced tomatoes (or two cans if you like it more soup like), about a half cup of chili powder, some cumin, some paprika, salt and pepper.
Cook for about 4 hours. After 4 hours, I will add about 1.5 cups of frozen corn and a can of kidney beans (rinsed) and cook for another hour.
It's delicious chili. I serve it over rice or pasta with a solid amount of cheese on top.
I like to make hamburger BBQ in my crock pot, and I also do roasts, chickens, and beef cubes in there. Bonus is you can get a really good stock from the beef and chicken, and you can freeze it to use for soups later.
How do you do hamburger BBQ? Just ground beef and BBQ sauce? I'm intrigued.
I like to do a whole chicken. Just season with your favorite seasonings and let it cook! I just got a whole butt load of recipes of Pinterest for the Crock Pot.
BBQ chicken - bottle of BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, 6 chicken thighs
Chicken and dumplings - container of chicken stock, tbsp of dried basil, tsp Trader Joe's Everyday Seasoning, 3 chicken breasts, 6 red potatoes, 3 carrots. Cook on high for 4 hours, add dumplings (I use Bisquick and milk) in the last hour.
Pesto chicken - 6 chicken breast tenderloins coated in pesto, cook on high for 4 hours, add tomato slices and fresh grated parmesan in the last hour, serve pasta with leftover pesto.
Pulled pork - 1 can of rootbeer, 1 pork loin, roast on low for 6 - 8 hours, shred, and add BBQ sauce.
Re: Crock Pot Recipe

Chicken taco soup
Pot roast - I use this recipe but in the crockpot for 6 - 8 hours on low. I also add potatoes and a little bit more beef broth.
