Re: 2nd Tri Check in

  • Update: I'm feeling little dude move occasionally. It is subtle but I know it is him. Lookin forward to the kicks. I'm 17weeks. I'm starting to plan the nursery.
QOTW: for sleep I'll use bassinet at first. We didn't have a swing for DD. I might get a rock and play, they sound amazing.

  • Good morning ladies!

Updates: Nothing super new - have to take my GTT soon and I'm dreading it because I just really want to pass! I hit v-day yesterday which is awesome - and we're headed on a 1.5 week long road trip to MN (from IL) for a wedding then from MN to WY (for another wedding that I'm in) then WY back to IL. We love road trips but I'm worried about how much we're going to have to stop for me to pee - lol!

Work has been stressful but I'm trying to keep things in perspective. My parents also just said that they're going to buy Hunter's crib and dresser which is amazing of them, so that's one less expense to worry about.

QOTW: We're going to us the RNP for sleeping at first, then when he gets bigger use the PNP in our room. We're also planning on getting a swing.

I'm not sure if we'll need all of this, but my SIL used it all for my nephew, so that's what we're going with.

  • Update: Had an allergic reaction last wed which almost put me in ANAPH shock. Since then LO has barely been moving and I was having severe cramping so I went in for an NST. LO was fine I was having a few contractions. Lo barely moved the whole weekend and I tried everything, then just as I am about to go in this morning she started moving a lot. She is trying to give me a heart attack.

Q: We are getting a PNP until we get a crib and will def have a fisher price swing because it saved me as a nanny. If someone gives us a bouncer we will gladly take it. I am on the fence about the Rock N Play as I have heard it can cause a flat head, however I have also heard that neonatologists love them.

  • Hi ladies!  So yesterday was V-Day for me!  Woohoo!!!  Little girl is moving around quite a bit.  More rolling around then actual kicks... I think that is due to my anterior placenta.  Just happy I can feel her moving!

QOTW:  We are using a RNP when she is first born.  I also plan on using a swing.

LUV:  What did you have an allergic reaction to?  My goodness...you have had anything that could happen, happen!  But your LO is a trooper...  So happy everyone is ok!

  • Update: My cervix was back up to 3.6 after a week on progesterone (it had been 2.2 and 2.1 the two previous weeks) and I have a check again tomorrow.  Baby's doing great, is perfectly healthy, and wiggling like crazy. I'm 21.5 weeks.

QOTW: We'll be using all of the above, lol. We plan on having a swing on each floor plus a RNP down stairs and a PNP in our room, plus a bouncer upstairs as well.

Six years of infertility and loss, four IUIs, one IVF and one very awesome little boy born via med-free birth 10.24.13.

  • Not much new here!  Finally starting to feel some movement, which is awesome. I got a prenatal massage yesterday, and he was moving around for the first 20 minutes of it - very weird!  This is the most consistent it has been.

We are registering for the UppaBaby Vista stroller, which comes with a bassinet, so I think we will use that for the first month or two in our room for sleep.  I've also registered for a Mamaroo swing thingy and a rock n play, but if we don't get them as gifts I'm not sure I'll purchase them - will have to see how it goes.

We have our fetal echo a week from Friday, which I am excited about because we'll get to see a good image of him again!

  • Holy moly!  The October Mama's moved right up to the top!

Had an OB appointment yesterday and talked to them about my swelling and carpel tunnel and received some advice on that.  Nothing else really to report on about the appointment.  Today I've felt crampy and I'm trying to convince myself its normal and not call the OB.  If it gets worse I'll call and see what's up.  It's weird and in my back.  I slept awful last night so hopefully it's just a side effect from that.

QOTW:  We'll have all of them.  My SIL gave us a bouncer & swing and my sister is giving us her RNP once my niece outgrows it, likely in August.  We registered for PNP since we are on the go a lot to family & friends.  He'll go from RNP to his crib.

For the flat head question:  We registered for one of these...I haven't completed my research on it but I've heard good things about it on TB.

  • Hi Ladies,

Not much to report here.  We have our A/S in 2 weeks and we are hoping to find out the sex then.  I haven't felt any movement yet, hopefully soon!

DH keeps saying to me "i can't wait for you to start showing" and I have to remind him that when I get big I will be asking him for more help than I am now ;)  I don't think I look that much different now than I did before, I am still waiting to "pop" as they say.

QOTW: My cousins have offered to lend me a bouncer, swing and rock n play so I am hoping to use all of those.  They both had luck with their babies sleeping in the RNP for the first few months so i will try that.

  • Hello ladies! I have my 24 wk appt tomorrow, and I'm hoping they can help me with this swelling issue.  I can deal with my feet, it's the carpel tunnel its causing in my hands.  The last week has been very painful, especially in my right hand.

QOTW: A friend is giving us her bouncer, and that is what we had planned to try to use from the beginning.  We don't have a lot of room in our condo, so we didn't want to get everything.  We did register for a PNP to take on trips and when she goes to stay with the grandparents :)  I don't think I've heard of the rock n play?

Best thing ever (according to moms I know) for LO to sleep in, nap in, etc. Is VERY portable so you can easily move from room to room. Also the incline helps any babies with reflux. • hey ladies! Hope you all are doing well this week! I am feeling a little better lately, gaining an appetite (kinda) and hating this pelvic rest. 21 weeks tomorrow! :( I found out in addition to the marginal previa, the placenta is anterior, which is no biggie, but it's another weird thing.

  • Hi ladies!!

I am 16 weeks today and afraid to say it but I think my m/s may be gone! I have been feeling pretty good the last couple of days and haven't needed the Zofran since Sat. FX!

Had our monthly visit Fri with a dr in the group we hadn't met yet. Took her a bit longer than I am used to to find the heartbeat so I was sweating until she did. Thankfully all looks good. Need to schedule our a/s. Can't wait to find out boy or girl!!

Q: PNP for sure and I think my cousin said she was giving us a swing. Not sure about the RNP, guess I need to look into that one. I have a feeling when it comes to registering I will be very overwhelmed! An excited overwhelmed, wouldn't give up this exciting time for anything.
    TTC since June 2011
DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
    Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
    Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
    SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
    SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
    FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN

  • Wow!  I can't believe I'm moving! It really is surreal how fast this goes by.

Good luck to all the ladies here in 2nd Tri and look forward to seeing you in 3rd Tri.

QOTW:  We have a 2 story house, so I registered for a PNP and am planning on keeping that downstairs.  I also plan on using a Rock N Play instead of a bassinet for baby's first few weeks/months.

  • Hi ladies! This week is going great for me! We moved into our new place last weekend and it went grear! Best move of my lifetime! Nobody would let me do anything hahah we are settling in great and I can't wait to get stuff up on the walls and the nursery started!

Also can't believe OCT is at the top of the second Tri list! Wow! Where has the time gone!

We are using the RNP in place of a bassinet for those first weeks in our room! We also registered for a basic PNP for travel and a Graco glider swing the smaller one for here!

  • Hello everyone!

I hit vday on Sunday and it's such a cool milestone. Obviously I would like her to cook longer, it is still good to know that we made it this far. Feeling good...still some heartburn, swelling feet and carpal tunnel, mostly at night. Using a wrist brace really helps though! Our next appt is in two weeks and well hopefully be able to see the heart and get all the pics we need this time around. It's also my glucose test.

QOTW: We have registered for a small swing that well be able to move around the house. I'm also going to borrow a RNP from a friend to use.
  • Had my fetal heart ultrasound today (due to IVF) and everything looks great!  He is measuring big, about 85% for weight so far, and his kicks are INSANE. i am actually feeling sore where he keeps punching me hehe

QOTD:  for my son we used the swing (which he LOVED), PNP and a bouncie seat so those will all be in rotation.   i am seriously considering the rock and play though just for how compact it is-- and i love the incline for sick or reflux nights.

  • Update: They changed my due date apparently to 10/5. Could you update that for me? I have no idea why they changed it.

Embarrassingly enough we have a RNP, swing, PNP, and bouncer. Embarrassed  Baby will sleep in the RNP in our bedroom. We have a bouncer in the basement and a swing in the living room. The PNP is for grandma's house or other random places we will go.

So excited to see all the happy, healthy updates!  It's amazing that we all get to be here!

I'm definitely feeling more movement over the last week.  DH thinks he was able to feel it for the first time on Sunday night.  He started painting the nursery and I signed us up for a birthing class- this is all getting pretty real now.

QOTW: We've been really fortunate- DH is the youngest, his siblings are all done having babies and have given us all their hand-me-downs.  So far we have a crib, bassinet, pnp, and swing.  We plan to use them all.  Bassinet in our room for the first month or so, crib after that, pnp and swing out in the family room.  Although we might splurge on a new swing...one that plugs in rather than eating D batteries.

  • Hello ladies!

No major appts coming up yet, just a regular appt next week and then anatomy scan coming up later in July. I'll be nervous for that as it gets closer!

I have a mamaroo on my registry. I've heard good things about it and it looks super cool. I wish they made a version big enough for adults!

  • Update: So relieved to have normal findings on our fetal echo!  We lost our first DD to congenital heart disease, so this was a big worry for us.  Just got back a little while ago.  We have a growth scan on Friday, so I'm praying all will be looking good otherwise.  Getting lots of movement these days, which feels fantastic.

QOTW:  Am I terrible for saying all of the above???  (blushing)

We already have two PNP - one was a gift, the other was a hand-me-down.  Probably will put one at grandparent's house and have the other downstairs at home.  I registered for the FP cradle and swing, which is supposed to be great, and also the RNP, which I hear is a must, esp good for preventing reflux.  I like that the RNP is easy to move around, so I can have it in various rooms (like in the study while I'm working, near the shower, etc.).  OK, so technically I probably don't need a bouncer, but, what if baby wants to bounce???
