We have a 5 year old Boxer/Pit mix, Tally. She is soooo sweet and soooo dumb! Haha she is great with DS and everyone else. She loves strangers. She loves licking and playing. DS is pretty rough with her at times and she just licks his face. She is a really good dog.
Our cat, Freeney, is 12 and VERY lazy! She just lays there while DS 'pets' her. It's more like he puts her in a headlock.
How do you think your fur babies will get along with a human baby?

Aw, he is cute! I've always thought that picture in your siggy is hilarious. He doesn't look like he's too sure about that camera.
DS loves your siggy pic of Julius! He always says "awww cute kitty".

I am the exact same way. My cats are my babies and I spoil them rotten with toys. I buy them toys every time we go out of town because I feel guilty for leaving them. It might be a sickness...DH thinks I'm insane. He secretly loves them as much as I do, though.
I have a husky, she's almost 10...which is really hard for me to believe! Although, it feels like she's been in my life forever. She still has lots of energy, and doesn't act like an old dog at all.
She isn't the hugest fan of DS, but tolerates him well enough--particularly when he is eating (er, throwing) mac n cheese.
Oh my goodness! I love him! Orange cats are my favorite (obviously)! I fall in love every time I see one!
See siggy! I have two Boston Terriers. Charlie is 9 and Cricket is 4 and they are both rescues. And I have a 10 year old cat named Abraham.
They all do well w/kids and babies. Cricket is jumpy so little kids she knocks over sometimes, but once she's done being hyper, they'll just plop down and hang out.

I have a 1 year old German Shepherd mix named Samson, and a ferret named Delilah. You can check them out in my siggy
Sammy is extremely smart. We actually taught him how to talk. He can say "I love you", "Mama", "I want it", and even "water". I know this sounds weird, but he seems to really understand what these words mean. Example: I go to fill up his water bowl, and he says "water".
Anyway, he is a very loving dog, and has been amazing with my friends kids. So I'm sure we will be able to adjust just fine.
As for Delilah, I'm still figuring that one out. lol
Lola is my other chihuahua and she is 3 she is a princess and drama queen, she keeps to her self and don't really like to be bothered
Oscar who is a jack Russell and is 2 along with Mia who is 3 and is a bull dog are very playful and so smart yet so dumb, they get along with everything once they get comfortable
We have two male huskies. They're brothers and they'll turn two this week. They're both very sweet and super friendly. Probably a little too friendly.
Sasha, on the right in my siggy, was my first baby. He looks like a little polar bear. He loves his dolly and is dying to eat a hard-boiled egg. We adopted Chevy, on the left, when he was about 6 or 7 months old. He's really cuddly and loves to give kisses. They both love riding in the car and getting their teeth brushed.
I'm not worried about having a baby around them at all. They've been great with kids so far, but I'm sure it will take them some time to adjust to not having all of the attention and free roam of the house anymore.
My cat, Abby!! My little smoosh butt, cuddle bug. I love her to pieces. She has so many nick names: buggie, nug nug, abbers, the list is endless.
She's pretty attached to me. We got her from a shelter so I know she's open to loving anyone who loves her back. She's friendly with adults but I haven't seen her with children. hopefully she'll be OK with a baby
We have Remington (I call him Memsy), a stray cat who adopted us a couple years ago. He just showed up to the apartment we were renting while I was in my first year of grad school, and he never left. He was in pretty rough shape, but we got him to the vet and got him healthy. He is such a joy, so sweet and playful, but gentle - he never uses his claws when playing or jumping (but he's not declawed),
He is quite nervous around kids, he gets a weird possessed by the devil look when he hears a baby cry, but he just avoids them, so I am not too worried. When he watch my cousins daughter (she's 3), Mems will let her practice gentle pets and then he will go to another room. I think that he would get used to a baby pretty quickly, he is a fast adapter.
DH is pushing for us getting a puppy, and with my new job we can afford it, but I am still on the fence until we get into our own house (we are renting right now).
I have my little rat terrier Dobby and I love him so much. He is a really great dog. Except for the fact that he doesn't care much for other animals.. or small children. I think if he was around them all day every day, he'd get used to them. He tolerates my niece now that we see her frequently (she is almost 2). The fact that I taught her to share her food with him may also have something to do with it.. lol.
ETA: Sorry for the large picture. This was at Christmas time. I got him special treats and he sat patiently and posed for a picture with them lol.
We just added a fur baby to our family! Jake the Dog! We picked him up from a farm 2 hours outside of town. He is a goldren retriever crossed with a maremma x husky, so we are thinking he might be a big boy. Here is a picture of him:
We have a Jack Russell Beagle mix (I call him a Jackal) named Ray, plus two cats. Lillith is 2, and was born under the house about a month before our wedding, and I got Gidget as am 18th birthday present she'll be 13 on November 1st.
Ray:
Lillith as a kitten:
And, Gidget:
I love her little "raccoon tail"
Our mini schnauzer, Charlie, is six months old. He's very playful and energetic, which keeps us busy!
I think that Charlie will do just fine with a baby around. Maybe he'll be a bit jealous though? He's so used to having all of the attention!

We have a one year old boxer/lab/pit mix(who really knows, he was adopted) named Will and he's a really great dog but high energy constantly. I was so proud when we introduced him to my best friends 6 month old and he was so sweet and gentle and just wanted to lick his feet. Luckily they have a big boxer so nobody minded the puppy kisses.
We also have a 6 year old cat, Tina and she's really social and we tested her last year with my friends toddler and she did surprisingly well despite him chasing her, pulling her tail, hitting her with a spoon. She just sort of took it until she was done and then would hide under the bed for a while.
I have three dogs. I have an American Bulldog, a chihuahua/yorkie mix, and a boxer/terrier mix.
My American Bulldog is 4 years old and her name is Harley. She is the sweetest thing and is AMAZING with my DS.
My chihuahua mix is 10 and he is a grumpy old man and his name is Rum. He really could care less for my DS and basically runs and hides whenever he is around.
My boxer/terrier mix is just kinda fat and lazy. She is 5 years old and her name is Kali. She is kind of a mix of Harley and Rum in her tolerance with DS. She will deal with him to an extent. However, she does run from him which is helping with her weight issue so plus on that!
Spencer is a black maltipoo and Toto is a cream toy poodle. Spencer we raised from a puppy and he is very energetic and playful. Toto we adopted about 1 1/2 years ago. He was abused by his first owner and not paid attention to by his second. He has really come out of his shell and is very playful, although at times he gets intimidated.
Both dogs have been around babies and small children without problems. I think the biggest issue will be Spencer being jealous of my time being devoted to someone else. He's a mama's boy

DH and I adopted our sweet girl in January from our local shelter. She is a lynx point Siamese named Jaina (pic in siggy). She's not a big fan of other people because she's so shy but she's a real ham with DH and I. I think she would do ok with a LO once she got used to him/her.
What I'm worried about is having a LO that is allergic to cats/dogs. I don't know much about allergies and how they arise but I would be devastated if we had to get rid of our furbaby because human baby is allergic.
When I first moved in with my now hubby I told him that I had to have a cat...I had always had at least one growing up so I adopted a little orange year old tiger much to his dismay! haha He loves her though and she's super sweet. Kind of does her own thing. I have a friend with a four month old and every time she puts her on the floor to change her that cat just hangs out right by her waiting for her to be done, it's great.
And then there are my pups. We adopted a lab/weimaraner mix from a rescue in Tennessee 2 years ago and he is the absolute best. He's been wonderful with our friends kids and again, when the 4 month old comes over he just kind of looks at us when she starts to fuss, haha.
2 months ago we rescued another, a 6 month old black lab/aussie mix. Again, he's been wonderful. Had a barbecue a few weekends ago and he and our older dog sat and watched our friend's baby outside.
So hopefully when the time comes, our fur babies will love a little one, I'm sure they will!
This is my darling dog, Dodger, to a T! My friends call him an "aggressive cuddler". Last night, I tried to hold hands with DH, and he bit our hands! Dodger is a 14 month old yellow lab mix. We got him from a shelter in December. He is wild and full of energy, but we love him. He is a bit of a jumper, and we are working on that, but it does make me nervous for future children as he jumps and tries to play with my nieces and nephews, and is not really aware of his size. They are a bit afraid of him. He also does not like people to sit next to each other or hug, and he wants to be in the middle. I think we have quite a bit of training left to do!
We have a rescue corgi named Ein, who LOVES toddlers. Mostly because they're good at dropping food and giving belly-rubs.
We also have two cats - one is a gigantic, overweight middle-aged princess, who tolerates being petted by small children, and the other is a rambunctious 3-year old kitten-at-heart who will play with ANYTHING. We've got a good bunch right now.
We have Floyd. He's a Russian Blue ASH mix that i rescued 8 years ago. He's easy-going, affectionate, not destructive, loves dogs, doesn't wake me to be fed. He's timid with strangers but with just H and I, he's a little clown and a cuddle whore.I'm more of a dog person but my cat is awesome.
Crazy cat story: 7 years ago, he ran away from the catsitter while I was on vacation. We searched relentlessly for months, handed our fliers, talked to people, checked the pound, put out ads...that's how much I love this cat. I got him back 5 months later when he showed back up at the house he ran away from- for food. He lost 5lbs (he was a chubster before) but was otherwise fine.
We had house guests a week ago that included a 15mo old toddler. Floyd hid in the closet and under the bed but came out occasionally to check things out. He adjusts easily.
I have one beagle named Chase. We got him from a special hunting beagle breeder because DH wanted to hunt with him. While is an adequate-good hunter, Chase is an awesome cuddlebug. He always wants to be near you or sit on you. I thought he might grow out of this after his puppy stage, but he is 2.5 and still loves to snuggle.
A funny story about Chase: we've been cutting back his food quite a bit lately since rabbit hunting season ended and he wasn't getting a ton of running in. He gained a pound or two, so we wanted to nip that in the bud. We came back from a race on Sunday with a part of a Subway party sub and left it on the table. As soon as we turned our backs, Chase had a section of the sub and retreated to the living room happily munching on ham and cheese. 'Guess he didn't like his diet!
My son has serious cat and dog allergies, so we have feather babies instead. We currently have 8 parakeets (Boojie, Snyper, Koko, Cricketot, Squirtle, Tinkerbell, Teddy and Dexter)and 2 cockatiels (Violet and Fifi), just lost our elderly cockatiel (22 years!) in April. They are all tame, paper trained for the most part, and smart.
I have a boxer pit mix too. So cute. But dumb too!
