I am planning to just get a BOB this time. We didn't use a stroller for general use hardly at all with our older DD, but I put a lot of miles on the jogging stroller we had. I sold all of the strollers we had because I tested a BOB and told DH that I would be upgrading when we had our next baby. I used the old jogger until DD was over 4. She'll be 7 when our new baby arrives, and already runs with us or rides her bike. But I don't know which BOB to get. Back in the day I loved the iron man I tested, but that was more than 3 years ago. Which BOB do you runner moms love? DH thinks we should go with the model that has the movable and fixed wheel option. Any pros and cons between the different models would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter!
Re: Runner moms, which BOB?
I recently bought a BOB Revolution. I really have nothing to compare it to as #1 I am a relatively new runner and #2 the stroller I had been using before was a Baby Trend my husband bought last year. All that aside...I LOVE it! And the child seems to love it as well. I love that it is wider, has the inside pockets for her to stash her sunglasses and water/snacks, the canopy, ease collapsing/opening, etc.
Just an fyi...I bought it new on ebay. I wandered into a BRU recently and noticed they were at least $150 more in the store.
I have the Revolution as well. We use it as our all around stroller as well as taking DS when I go running on Saturday mornings. Since we use it for trips to the mall, zoo, downtown etc, we wanted the swivel wheel.
The only minor annoyance I have with the setup for running is that sometimes the wheel is not true when you "fix" it for a run. There is an adjustment knob on the wheel which is pretty easy to use but I don't find it convenient. By the time I realize that the stroller is not tracking straight, I'm into the run and I don't want to stop, adjust, test it out and keep readjusting until I get the wheel tracking straight. I imagine the permanent fixed wheel option doesn't have this problem. The only other thing I would like is a brake on the handlebar. I run down steep hills to my preferred gravel running path and although there is a wrist strap, I wish there was a brake. I've run with my sister's stroller(not a BOB) which has a brake and that was nice on the downhill sections. GL!
