I know we've talked about potty training alot lately but I don't know if this issue has been brought up. Daisy asks to go potty. Most the time she just sits on the toilet an nothing happens but sometimes she does pee in the toilet and says "I did it". I wasn't planning on doing potty training until dr was closer to 3 but it seems like she might be ready to at least start now. I'm going to buy a little potty for her so its more comfortable for her. I just feel really weird starting at 16 months but when she asks to go potty I don't want to say no, that would be sending mixed signals down the line. I'm not even thinking about pullups or underwear right now and I'm not expecting her to be fully potty trained anytime soon but I feel like I need to follow her lead on this. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Re: LO wanting to potty train
She's only actually used the potty once but I figure as long as we're keeping the whole situation stress free there's no harm at this point of letting her practice being on the potty.
I was potty trained at 16 months so I don't think it's too early or "weird". I would follow her lead and hopefully it will be an easy thing.
I'd follow her lead. Being/Starting potty training at 16mo is not that abnormal...especially for little girls. Girls tend to potty train sooner than little boys, but it's not out of the question for boys either. One of my nephews was completely potty trained at 16mo...but his brother wasn't until he was almost 3. So, I think it's very kid specific. Go with it!
