Placenta Previa Story

Hi everyone.  I am currently 21, almost 22 weeks along.

My regular OB/GYN sends his patients to a specialist for all genetic screenings and the Anatomy Scan.  Last week, while at the specialist for the AS, the doctor there told me that she saw a low lying placenta/partial placenta previa.  Today, at my regular OB/GYN, he reads the report from the specialist and it says that I have complete previa.  I was like WTH?  The specialist NEVER used that term with me.  I know this for sure because my husband, mother, and mother-in-law were all with me at the appointment and none of them heard it either. In fact, they all said they only hear low lying placenta.

I am just so frustrated right now.  To  go from low lying placenta, to partial, now to complete previa has my head spinning.

I have had no symptoms, such as pressure or bleeding and I am praying that it stays that way.

Does anyone have any stories about their previa resolving itself by the time of delivery?

Thanks.

Re: Placenta Previa Story

  • I really nt think its possible to go from partial to complete. I would request a clarification even if it means a other ultrasound. Mine was diagnosed as co please right from the start.

  • Was your u/s vaginal or transabdominal?  It can be hard to tell the exact positioning on a transabdominal.
