I'm very passionate about local economic issues. Local business, local farms, I love farmers markets, smaller restaurants, ect... I also don't mind spending a little more to buy from a mom and pop shop rather than a big box store.
Lastly I am very very passionate about all things Japanese. I love the culture, love the food, love the country. I alwaysjoked with DH that he never will have to compete with another person but my "other woman" is a country lol.
I totally agree with the mom and pop shops. If they make great products then I don't mind spending the few dollars more. The service is almost always worth it. And support a local business and family is way more important than a supermart or OliveAppleRubyOutback whatever.
H would kill to go to Japan. He's always wanted to vacation there. It is just so not my cup of tea. I would go if he talked me into it but I'd way rather visit Europe or the beach somewhere. That's awesome to love an entire culture like that!
If you do get the chance to do both, totally go for it. I would advise April during the cherry blossom seasons. Japan's beautiful that time of year.

This is a great post, Poppy.I know after I post, I'll have to go reread the thread, so I can gtky ladies better. Here is what I am passionate about:Bellydance: I have been taking classes and dancing for six and a half years. I love going to festivals, taking classes, shopping for fun stuff. It is such a great creative outlet. I have recently been teaching as well, which can be challenging, but so rewarding. I just started teaching a children's class this summer, so fun and
This is great! I would love some pics if you have then to post.

I am a big fan of eating local. I live in a farm town and love all the fresh, local produce. I also prefer shopping in the local mom and pop grocery store. We also have some amazing restaurants in town. Town Council is very supportive of local business and makes it tough for chain stores to come in to town.
All right! I totally approve of your town.

Rabbits: We have three rabbits. They are the best pets ever. I want to look into becoming a foster mom of rabbits at my local shelter. Our bunnies live in cages when we are not home, but roam our house and safe yard when we are with them.
Disneyland: This is me and my DH's favorite place in the world. It is our special place together. We live 8 hr away in northern california, but we have gone many times together. Seven. And we've been together 9 years, so that's a lot for it being "far" away. I could talk about Disneyland all day. Don't get me started.
One of my closest friends is also passionate about bunnies and used to foster them. I never known anyone else to keep buns as pets like she does.
MH and I are obsessed with disney world. We've talked about taking a trip to disneyland, but living in NJ means that would be a cross country trip. One day!
