I'm so over people acting like they are "helping" or coaching me when really this is a collaborative effort. I'm not a minion. I get paid a great salary and am mid-grade level of middle management in corporate.
I would just ignore it. If it gets to be unbearable I'd say something but whay exactly are they saying to you?
I do this. I am an engineer, and engineers tend to have large nerdy egos...everyone's the smartest person in the room according to themselves...so I just let them have their moment of "genius" then carry on. I'm not going to play whose brain is bigger, I don't need that for my self-esteem.
I guess I'm a little passive aggressive where this is concerned because I do enjoy when the biggest offenders of this get called out. I guess that's my little bit of Schadenfreude.
Let it go in one ear and out the other...then smile pretending like you agreed and listened...and then excuse yourself with what ever reasons (ie: bathroom, wk, etc etc).

Re: How do you deal with condescending people at work?
Well, I would let people treat me like a minion, then watch them feel embarrassed when they realize how awesome my work is.
