Re: MoMs to be check in!

  • Update: Hey ladies!  We had our a/s on Friday. Both babies are looking great. Two boys, for sure!  They are both measuring a week ahead and weigh an estimated 14 ounces each.  Baby B may possibly be missing a kidney, and the only kidney they could see was slightly dilated (5mm).  We have our next ultrasound on July 23rd so I am hoping maybe the other kidney was just missed, somehow. I hope that his one kidney is healthy.  I think we are heading towards making a final decision on names. So far, we've got Vincent Andrew and Dominic Theodore.  Hope you all have a great week!

QOTW: It takes me about an hour to shower, get dressed, do my hair, makeup, AND get my kids dressed, diaper bag packed, snacks and drinks, and out the door.

  • Happy Monday everyone!

We've had a lot of good news in the past couple of weeks.  Neither DH nor I were carriers for any of the genetic disorders tested by Counsyl.  The risk of Downs for both babies is extremely low (@1:7000).  The babies looked good in their NT scan although they were not cooperative!

I had an appointment this morning.  The doctor just did a quick heartbeat check on the sono machine and she said it looked good.

My only gripe is that I continue to spot.  7 days this week.  I am hopeful it abates now that I have entered the 2nd trimester!  But as long as the babies are fine, I can live with it!

On weekdays, I shower at night and let my hair air dry.  I am out of the house in less than 15 minutes in the morning.  If I am getting ready to go out, about an hour to shower, do hair, makeup and get-dressed.

D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs.  Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!

  • Everything is going really well! I'm 22 weeks tomorrow, feeling tons of movement now and I can see them move now too. I had an OB appt. last Weds. and my bi-weekly u/s last Friday.

I had been having some light cramps and back pain so I asked my OB to do an internal just to make sure (mostly because I was freaking out) that everything was still ok and it was, cervix is still long and tight. And then at the u/s on Friday the tech and the doc couldn't find my SCH!! The doc said it probably reabsorbed and it's gone, but since it was there at the last check they still want to see me every 2 weeks for now just to make sure my cervix is still holding strong, and that the babies fluid is still good after all the bleeding I had.  Also it turns out the back pain I was experiencing was from constipation . . . She put me on Miralax, and it took a few days but I've had a BM everyday for the last 3 and I feel like a new woman!

QOTW: On a work day, I get up at 5am to shower, make-up, get dressed, breakfast, pack lunch, and get out the door by 6am. On a stay at home day, I add getting DS fed and dressed and snacks packed so about an hour and a half I think to get us out the door.

  • I'm 33 weeks today! Today is also my first day of maturnity leave and I'm super bored lol. DS is at school and hubby is at work. I think I'm going to start sorting through baby clothes and put them away in the nursery.

I usually get up around 5:45am and shower and am out the door with DS by 7am.

  • I've been lurking for a while and I thought I'd finally join you wonderful ladies. I'm an active participant on the Pregnant after IF board. We are having fraternal twins, due Nov 6th. 1 Boy & 1 Girl! I look forward to getting to know all of you other MoMs in the coming months!

QOTW:  On a normal work day, I get up around 7:00, in the shower around 7:25 and out the door by 8:10 to 8:15. Usually get to work in time to get a quick breakfast before starting work at 8:45

Married 8/14/10 * TTC since Aug 2010 * Met with RE in Feb 2012 * DH: low motility, low sperm count, elevated FSH * Me: Stage 4 Endometriosis * Laparotomy to remove endo in May 2012 * June 2012 - DH on Rx to hopefully increase count/quality * Re-tested sperm 10/22/12, count/quality have both dropped * IVF #1 w/ICSI * Transferred 2 beautiful embryos on 2/18/13 * Beta #1 3/1/13 - 636!!! Beta #2 3/3/13 - 1796!!! First ultrasound scheduled for 3/18/13 Image and video hosting by TinyPic birthday2012_small Anniversary
  • I am 12 weeks today with fraternal twins. Have my first appointment with my perinatologist on Thursday and am expecting the results of my MaterniT21 test by Friday. If all goes well, we will most likely be going public this weekend (so far, just our parents know). I am really excited because it is getting really hard to keep hiding it and I feel badly lying when people point blank ask me. There are only so many times you can reply that you are only "glowing" because it is 90 degrees out, while trying to hide quite the blump.

QOTW: I usually get up around 7 and watch a little of the Today show before getting into the shower. I try to be out the door by 8:10 in order to get to work by 8:30. However, morning sickness doesn't always cooperate.

    BFP #1 on 12/15/11 but missed m/c with d&c on 2/1/12.
BFP #2 on 5/1/13 = boy/girl TWINS with EDD of 1/3/14 but expected no later than 12/20/13.
  • Tomorrow I'll be 38 weeks!  I'm so thankful to have made it this long but I'm ready to have these boys already.  I've developed PUPPP which is killing me.  It's hurting so bad that even putting clothes on makes me want to cry.  My weekly appt was scheduled for tomorrow but I've requested to go in today to see if we can do anything about this rash and/or make an induction plan.

  • Hey there!

Checking in as I have moved from Modified bedrest to full bed rest.  35 weeks tomorrow!!  We are shooting for 36.  Stopped working and trying to embrace the required "laziness".  Who am I kidding, I have no energy to do anything anyway and swell up like a balloon if I get up.  :)

THe boys are doing well and growing huge.  Likely over 6lbs each now.

    Just a waiting game now.

  • All has been going well on this end.  Tomorrow makes it 1 week until we meet our beans!  We are so ready!!

QOTW: Showering takes longer when it comes to shaving or anything below the belly.  I have really bad groin pain on my left side, and it really bothers me to lift either leg.  This also affects me getting dressed.  It definitely takes me longer to get ready.  Oh, and I have a hard time bending over the sink because the belly is in the way.  I've definitely had to adjust my timeline for getting ready.  My mom comes with me to the OB since my BF is at work, and she has to help me get dressed when I get cervical checks. Definitely counting down the days!

  • I'm new here! Introduced myself last week. I'm due 9/22/13 with b/g twins.

QOTW: I'm a SAHM, and don't go very many places these days, but when I do, it takes me 45minutes to an hour to get showered and dressed. I take my sweet time unless I have an early morning dr's appointment. It takes me another 30 minutes to get out the door because DD is slow moving. Lol.

  • I haven't even intro'ed on this board yet, but I would love to be part of the check-in. I am just getting used to having twins :) I am having ID twins due 1/6/14. I am unsure of gender yet, but we will be finding out.

They so far do not have a membrane seperating them, so are very high risk. So far they are measuring on track and look good. We didn't find out until 9 weeks we were having twins :)

I also post on the PGAL and PAIF boards.

I can't wait to get to know you all :)

How long does it take you to shower and get around to leave, on a normal day?  about 45 minutes

  • So much great news!

33/1 today, been home from the hospital for 1 week :). Still truckin along on bed rest and loving feeling my LOs move around.  Space is getting tight for them though!  Growth scan on Friday - hoping they are each between 4.5 and 5lbs at this point.  They were 4lbs and 3lbs,9oz at their last growth scan.  Striving for 35w, beyond would be a gift.

QOTW:  I try to spend as little time on my feet as possible d/t bed rest.  So generally shower and get dressed is about 20 min.  Then back to bed or couch.  When I'm working, I usually shower at nite, make up in the morning takes 10-15 min.

  • Hi everyone! We just had our 12 week NT scan and it went really well. Everything came back normal and I don't go back in until 16 weeks. Although I was told I need to gain more weight. Not sure how I can eat any more than I already am!

It takes me 45 minutes to get out the door.

  • Update: 36 weeks on Wednesday! (My ticker is a little off). My induction date is schedule for next week 7/2. I've been in early labor for the last few days though - 4cm dilated, but my body doesn't want to seem to progress any more than that on it's own. I'm getting so excited to meet my little girls!

QOTW: On a normal day, it takes me about 30 minutes to shower and get ready (a little longer now that I have to sit down to rest in between things!

  • Please add me!  Twins...girl/boy due October 17th.  I occasionally post here and read this forum everyday but haven't signed up yet to be included on the check-in.  Everything is looking good so far on ultrasounds, we can see that the girl is much more active than the boy, it often looks like she is smacking him around which always surprises the doctor/tech.  They are both in vertex position so my OB says it's possible that I won't need a c-section, either way it's pretty daunting not knowing how things are going to end up.

I set my alarm for 5:10, hit the snooze alarm and get up at 5:20am and am usually out the door by 6:20.  I would definitely have to get up earlier though if we had kids.  Some mornings it is so hard to drag myself OUT of the shower...and as someone else said, it is becoming more challenging leaning over the sink to put on make-up...

  • Hello all!

I'm home on sbr after being admitted last week for PTL. The girls had a great report today at MFM! We had our first BPP and they looked great with a score of 8. Fluid levels and dopplers look great! So, we can cut back to once a week instead of twice. Now, if my body would cooperate we'd be golden!

QOTW: right now I can't go anywhere but to the doctor. It takes me about 30 minutes to shower, dress and get out the door.

Update: my anatomy scan and first MFM appointment is tomorrow. I'm so nervous.

I know there's still a lot of time, but I'm worried DH and I might end up in divorce court over naming the babies. We got in a big fight last night and haven't spoken since then. He got mad when I vetoed a name because it's the same as the daughter of a person I hate. It's a nice name, but I can't help if it has negative connotations for me. Plus, I deal with the mother almost every day and it would be super awkward. He thinks I'm being unreasonable even though he has acted the same way towards names I suggest that he doesn't like. But when he says he doesn't like a name, I move on rather than throw a hissy fit.

QOTW: it depends. If I have a client meeting or court appearance, it can take 45 min to get ready assuming no wardrobe meltdowns. If I'm working alone in my office, I can shower, throw on some jeans, put on mascara and be out the door in 10 minutes.

Update: I have an appointment later this week, hoping to see that Baby B is still growing. We got cribs over the weekend, which was fun. I had only wanted to set up one for now but we ended up just doing them both.

QOTD: Takes me 45 minutes to an hour usually but I can move faster if necessary. I'm easily distracted.

  • Update: Had an appt with my OB this morning and another with my MFM this afternoon to check on how I'm doing before we leave on a three week vacation abroad. Both were happy with our health and progress. My cervix dropped down a bit to 2.7 but MFM is still pretty happy with it. I also tried to exhaust myself yesterday - we left the house at 9:30 and ran errands until 7:30. I wanted to see if it would have an impact on my cervix and any cramping. Both doctors said it was a good idea and it looks like I'm ok. We won't be going that hard on vacation, so it was a worst case scenario. At the MFM, we had another scan because my girl was in a terrible position last time for a heart scan. This time was the same issue. She would not budge. I drank water, tapped my tummy, rolled around, walked around, and went to the rest room. I even did a little bouncing dance. Nothing. Stubborn child. QOTW: It usually takes me an hour to leave. I make my husband tell me exactly when we have to be in the car because I dawdle a lot and have to manage my time. If I had to, I can shower, dress, and get ready in 30 minutes, but I like going at a slower pace.

  • Nothing really exciting has been happening lately.  I am feeling better most days. At least it's not everyday anymore, I'll take it!  We find out what we're having on Friday and of course this week just started and it feels like it's dragging!

Lately I've been able to get ready and out of the house in 30 min if I've been puking that morning.  Normally I'd spend 45-1 hour depend upon where I am going.

  • Not much to update on although we have made it into the second trimester!! Still waiting on our ultrasound to see if baby B has kidneys or not. Amniotic fluid levels around B are still significantly low. So just lots of praying and waiting. Baby A is right on schedule and both have great heart rates. Lots of M/s still but I think I am regaining so energy! We have ultrasounds set up for July 17 an 23 and also on August 20 fingers crossed we get answers!
QOTW: it takes me about 45 minutes to get ready I shower at night so getting ready is pretty fast

  • I am happy to have made it to 32 weeks!  Getting more tired everyday though it seems.  I am still working 2.5 days a week, and the full days are killer!  When I have to get up and get ready for work, I give myself an hour so to shower, dress, eat breakfast and get DS ready (he takes his time). It definitely takes me a while to move around these days.  I have pretty much stopped fixing my hair and just pony-tail it the days I leave.  I don't have the energy to blow dry & straighten my hair anymore.

We have our MFM ultrasound and appointment tomorrow for a 23% discordance found two weeks ago.  I am having di/di boys, but they would rather be safe than sorry.  I am hoping we get good news tomorrow!!! Regular OB appointment and NST on Wednesday and hopefully I get to schedule my c-section!  It seems like the days are dragging now the closer we get.   I am so ready to meet these boys!

  • my update: my twins have wonderful hearts. They'll do one final look at them after birth (4 weeks) and make sure the hearts are strong :) So no more big worries on them until they are born (hopefully) then we just get to look out for the standard "genetically passed" things.

This MoMma is soooo happy. :)

My shower is this Saturday. *happy dance* and I am trying to get used to my support brace thing... I keep putting it on too tight or too loose.

QOTW: depends on how long its been since I've done laundry... sometimes finding socks is the longest part of my getting ready lol

  • Hi ladies! I'm 30wks amd all seems good. DS is on my right head down so lots of pressure on my cervix, and feet under my ribs. And DD is breach and when she's awake she's punching and kicking her brother. I think she's paying him back for sitting in her head up until about two weeks ago. I have been having contractions, nothing serious or regular in any way, but really annoying. I hope that these kiddos hang on for the next 8 weeks!

QOTW It takes me about an hour to get myself showered and ready to go these days. Then add an additional 15 minutes to get my son ready and 10 more minutes for him to find his shoes.
  • Well another week down. I have a doctors appt today (tuesday, I am a little late I know) and I was hoping he'd lift the BR but since I was contracting on Sunday night for almost two hours I dont think he will and I firmly believe that it should not be lifted just yet, if at all. I also have another Orthopedic appt to get another shot in my knee. They did it a few weeks ago in a different spot and it has already worn off but in all honesty it never really worked too well in the first place.

The boys have been super active and I am pretty sure they were trying to flip which I hope is the case. I am ready to start seeing the chiro to start the Webster method. I really want to try this vaginally!

How long does it take you to shower and get around to leave, on a normal day?

45min- 1 hour if I am doing hair and make up, 30 min if I am just going to run the kids (when I could) to the park.

  • Not much going on with us this week I'm 12 wks and at my appointment last week we heard both heartbeats. They did determine that the babies are fraternal twins. They found the membrane that separates them and pointed out that both babies have their own placenta. We go back in 3wks for my next appointment.

QOTW: I shower the night before so it takes me about 30 minutes to get dressed and another 10 to 15 minutes to get DS dressed.

  • Hi! I am 7 Weeks 3 days Bicornuate Uterus, 2 placentas Baby A last week measured 7cm beats 150 per minute 6 weeks & 5 days. Baby B 6.5 cm 120 beats per minute 6 weeks & 3 days.  We are all good just cramps and already my tummy is getting big.  Today doctor called and said I have low Vitamin D3 and told me to go get a supplement of 5,000 IU which i ran to the pharmacy and got.  This has me a little nervous( any advise is appreciated, but besides that I cant wait for my next doctor visit that is July 8th and MFM doctor visit is July 11th.  Positive thoughts and happy week to all! Due date is February 10th 2014! Still a long way to go!
  • UPDATE: I'm 21 weeks tomorrow with twin BOYS! They arehealthy and growing well. We have to go back for them to finalize the Anatomy Scsn as both babies weren't cooperating. We also have to have a follow up fetal echo because baby B wouldn't cooperate, but the doctors said there was no reason to worry about anything. What they could see "looked normal".

  • Hey!  I'll join in!

we are expecting twins EDD 11/24 and we don't have the genders confirmed yet but hopefully will at next weeks anatomy scan!

    QOTW

it takes me at least an hour and a half. We also have a 3.5 yo DS and he usually distracts me from getting ready, plus I feel like I have to sit down often (kind of like the exhaustion you have when you have the flu). I have found I'm quickest when I take a chair into the bathroom to get ready in front of the mirror. :)

Not really much going on. Hit 33 weeks which has everyone thrilled. Started weekly non-stress tests at the specialist.  Last week the boys would't cooperate and stay on the monitors. Hopefully tomorrow will be better results. But all doctors are pleased so no worries so far.

If I don't dawdle around it would take me 45 minutes to get ready with shower, hair, make-up and gettting dresses. But I usually take more like and hour and half to get ready since I will eat breakfast and watch the news or get on the computer after getting out of the shower in the morning.

  • Hi!

I am a little late to the party.

    9w2d today.

Things seem ok - we have another U/S this coming Tuesday, the 2nd, at 10w1d and I am hoping everything will look good and we can maybe get a little more excited. Our last u/s at 6w3d we found out we were having twins, and didn't really do a good job at asking any questions about how good they looked, so I am antsy to do that now.

I have had little to no nausea, not a single incident of spotting ever, some on and off cramping that seems to have subsided for now, and of course swollen boobs and mid section. So it has been a pretty easy ride so far, I would say, and I hope it all means everything is going well.

I also have my MaT21 draw on Monday, July 1.

I almost always take exactly 1 hour from waking up to out the door, with shower, drying/styling hair, makeup,  packing breakfast and lunch and my work bag.

Hi!  I'm new to this type of post, but have posted in Multiples before.

I am 15 weeks as of last Saturday/Sunday.  We will be having Fraternal Twins, due December 10th.

We had struggled to get pregnant for a few years, got tested and found out I am not producing viable eggs.  Decided (after a lot of praying and conversations) that we'd use an egg donor.  Found one that matched me pretty close and went forward.  3 weeks before the transfer, found out my hubby is a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis.  After very little discussion he decided we should use a sperm donor.  Found one that matches him pretty close and had 2 embryo's implanted on March 29th.  We found out on May 5th that both were successful and we are anxiously waiting to meet our babies.  We don't know yet if they are boys or girls, but except for ease of purchasing items it doesn't matter, they'll be loved no matter what.

Had some pretty bad nausea but no actual vomiting, which I'm thankful for. The nausea has ceased (unless I smell canned chicken or microwaved-frozen egg rolls) but now am experiencing horrible headaches. Some are as close to a migraine as you can get without being a true migraine. I just want to curl up into a ball and shoot the first person who speaks louder than a whisper.  I've had a headache daily since May 30. 29 days, not that I'm counting or anything. :) It'll all be worth it in the end, when these 2 beautiful babies look at my husband and I and realize that we are their parents. <3

  • Update: We made it to 35 weeks today! Our next goal is 36 weeks so we're doing well. My c section is scheduled for July 18 when I will be exactly 38 weeks, but not sure with the way I'm feeling lately if we will make it until then. I am getting increasingly ache-y and swollen. I can hardly walk more than a few minutes. We had our MFM appt on Monday for BPPs and both babies passed 8/8. Tomorrow is my last day of work (woohoo!) and I think it was a great idea to duck out at this time. My mom flew in Sunday from across the country to help me for the next 2 months. It's been great to have someone around to cook/clean/organize baby stuff.

QOTW: Good question! Lately it takes all I've got to get up and shower. I've started to wash my hair every 2 days instead of every other day to save some time. I'm thinking I may switch to baths mostly to avoid standing up and making shaving easier which is a must in this weather. In summary - I would say it takes me 20-30 min to get ready :)

  • Hello all! I am new here and I guess I'm supposed to check in? I am 17 weeks (tomorrow) with what appear so far to be twin girls. We have our anatomy scan on July 9th and will get the sexes confirmed then. They are di/di and appear to be healthy and happy! I started feeling little movements here and there a week or two ago, which has been super cool.

Emotionally I had a rough week last week. I had to move to sleeping on my side (I'm a back sleeper) and went almost a week with very little sleep. Plus I recently lost my sister in a car accident and the reality that she won't be around to meet my babies is a tough pill to swallow. Also, how am I supposed to financially support two babies at once?!

On a happy note, my husband and I are very excited to become first time parents and he has been such a supportive partner through all of this. He is currently building me a new closet since I use the one in what will become the babies' room.

We have decided on the names Madelene Rose and Elosie Emilia if they are still girls after our next appointment.

  • Update:

Good news is we passed the preeclampsia tests (was having high blood pressure a few appts) and we also passed the glucose screening, yay! My biggest issue right now is lack of sleep and the anxiety associated with bedtime now. I feel like all the sudden I'm a fish out of water when it comes to going to bed... really sucks! I'm really glad the girls are doing so well, I just wish I was in a better place emotionally right now with the sleep thing and being so uncomfortable. We start weekly NST's and appointments next week. 6-8 weeks to go... I CAN do this! ;)

    QOTD:

It usually takes me 45-50 minutes to get ready if I shower and dry my hair.
