DH and I think we have settled on a name for our baby girl - Elaina Pearl. Both are family names. We've told a few people and they don't care much for Pearl. I love it, but I don't want my daughter to get picked on or hate her name. Any opinions?

I think it's a pretty name.  I don't care too much for Pearl myself, but I don't think it's a name she will hate or get made fun of for.  I never use my MN except for official documents, so I really wouldn't too much about it.

Very pretty name. I don't think she would get picked on at all for having this as her name.

I like it and a lot of the older names are making a comeback so I don't think she'll get madde fun of. Plus, it's her middle name, so her BFF's may know her MN but her whole class isn't going to. I wouldn't wory about it.

My DD is Josephine Pearl, so I love it.

Aside from it not being someone's particular taste, I am not sure how she get made fun of?

i'm not a huge fan of Pearl but certainly don't think she will hate it or get picked on for it- esp. since its her MN most of her friends won't even know it.

I love it! My DD is Melanee Pearl after my grandmother! It just fits her too.

I can't imagine why she would get picked on for being named Pearl? Not everyone is going to like the name you pick, so if YOU love it, use it. I think it is a nice name, for the record.

There is nothing wrong with Pearl.  I can't see any way that the middle name Pearl would be picked on.  Even if it was the first I don't think it is a pickable name.

it's a MN, which is NBD in my opinion. It's lovely and you love it.

It's a middle name.  No one is going to make fun of your daughter for a middle name.  Honestly, most people won't know it, and those that do will likely be family who will know the story behind it.

FWIW, we were going to use Pearl for a middle name if our son had been a girl.
