***2IF Weekly Update***

Hi everyone, I'm so sorry I have been out of the picture for a couple of weeks.  We were on vacation, and now we have family visiting us until Saturday.  It's been hard to find time to get on my computer!  But I'm back for the most part (and will be moreso after family leaves this weekend).

I tried to catch up on posts that happened while I was away, and I saw that whirli is also moving on (in addition to Kaselleck and Sigmundsgirl who had similar posts a week or two ago).  I am sad about that (I wish they had the outcomes they had hoped for, and I hope they continue to lurk and post here), but I understand needing to move on.  I am almost there myself.

I didn't see that there were any BFPs while I was away.  We are still in a serious drought.  Ugh!  Hope we get some better news going soon!

And I saw that there were several intros while I was away.  I hope all of the newbies will join our weekly update so we can all get to know each other well.  Everyone, please post a summary of your IF history including your current status.

QOTW:  A couple of weeks ago, we offered up our favorite movies, and a couple of ladies mentioned they preferred books over movies.  So, what are some of your favorite books?

Re: ***2IF Weekly Update***

  • Update:  We have been ttc#2 since July of 2011.  Many, many unsuccessful cycles.  1 miscarriage.  I have lower AMH as well as a glucose intolerance.  DH has slight morphology and motility issues.  We have done it all, clomid, letrozole and injects with IUI's.  This was our first IVF cycle.  I had my transfer on Saturday where we transferred 2.  In the 2ww.

QOTW:  I LOVED the Glass Castle!

  • TTC #2 since 10-2011. No MC, at one point higher FSH, last time all numbers came back normal. In the middle of my cycle now, which was supposed to be an IUI cycle, but was postponed due to timing (RE was on vacation the day I was supposed to have IUI). So now just waiting for next cycle to start Follistim.

QOTW: I agree, The Glass Castle was fantastic. I read it years ago and continue to read it every year. It's a favorite. LOVE HP series :) and I really enjoyed The Art of Racing in the Rain. Definitely a book that makes you cry and I'm not even a huge dog person. Just finished Gone Girl and I highly recommend it! Looking for a new book to read so I'm thankful for the QOTW subject! I'm thinking of reading Jeannette Walls' new book The Silver Star.

    DH & I: 29

  • TTC since August 2010 - second IVF attempt was cancelled today (see other post). Starting to feel really hopeless about this whole journey.

QOTW: I love to read!  Glass Castle is definitely one of my favorites and I'm anxious to read Jeanette Walls new book as well.  I also loved The Help, The Red Tent, Still Alice and Love Anthony (same author), Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, A Thousand Splendid Suns and Kite Runner (same author).  I enjoyed The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner trilogies, and the first two books of The Divergent trilogy.  I'm reading Gone Girl for book club now.  It took a little longer than I thought to get into it but now I can't put it down.

DD conceived naturally in 2009.  TTC #2 since August 2010.  Praying for guidance as we decide what's next.

When the world says, "Give up,"

Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

  • We are heading in to cycle 12. We'll be doing it on our own since we've yet to get a new RE appointment and my IF specialist won't do Clomid yet. I'm hoping if we really focus on timing, progesterone and supplements then we will get lucky.

QOTW: My favorite books are Flowers in the Attic, The Green Mile and Finding Fish.

    Hi!

We just started ttc 2. We are trying naturally for now since DS was a natural surprise after giving up. hoping we can win the lottery again so to speak : we tried for 4 years before we conceived DS. DH has crappy sperm.

Yes LOVE to read. I especially enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl. but I can list many many books.

so far nothing to update : cd 3 for us. Boring. Haha.

  • Update - TTC #2 for 18 cycles, 2 1/2 year old son conceived without interventions after 8 cycles.  HSG all clear, SA normal.  I am hypothyroid since having my son but am on medication.  I did 3 rounds of Clomid prescribed by my OB with no monitoring before I wised up and asked for an RE referral.  My first RE appointment is July 18th.

Favorite books - this is kind of hard - Poisonwood Bible (really, anything by Barbara Kingsolver), Don't Let's go to the Dogs Tonight, a few smutty books I'll deny admitting ever reading (NOT 50 Shades of Grey).  I'm too tired to think of others right now.

    TTC #2 since 1/2012

  • We've been ttc3 since Oct. 2011, no mc, on cd4 of what I think may be our final aggressive IUI with clomid, gonal F booster, and trigger. Really hoping we see some bfps in here soon!

QOTW: I just finished Water for Elephants, love dystopian themed books like The Hunger Games and Divergent series, and of course HP is an all time favorite. I was just looking for a new book so based on all of you I need to find this Glass Castle book!

  • We've been trying for 2 1/2 years (three losses), missing a tube on the right side, plus turning 42 in two weeks (ugh).  We are having our CD11 ultrasound on Monday, and hoping for a follicle on the left so we can do IUI#3.  Met with RE about the small cyst on my left side.  He feels it is endometriosis, but thinks having lap done is not worth it (based on losing 3-4 months at my age).  He recommended considering IVF or adoption, which we can't afford.  We don't have much hope anymore, but strangely, I'm more at peace with that as time goes by.

QOTW:  Probably my favorite book is Jane Eyre, which I've read a few times.  I also really loved Fortune's Rocks (I love everything by Anita Shreve) and Cold Mountain.  I will also look for The Glass Castle, which I've never heard of!

I've been MIA lately since I've been so busy (promotion at work, planning and celebrating DD's 2nd birthday, etc) but my SIF journey continues! We had another IUI on Thursday and I'm in the 2WW. We did 50mg Clomid + trigger + IUI with one mature follicle at 20.5mm on my left side.

QOTW: I recently read a series by Abbi Glines: Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far and Forever Too Far. Super fun, quick and easy reads...although the writing is kinda bad and the storylines are very similar. I also just finished a collection of blogs called 'I Just Want To Pee Alone' which was hilarious and a must read for all moms.
