Trouble TTC

mid cycle check

I am doing a medicated IUI cycle with Clomid 150mg. I had an ultrasound yesterday and one follie was measured at 29.5 mm. Should I be concerned about the size? I asked the on call RE they said it was large but not something that was concerning them. They felt like I was going to have a positive LH surge with my blood work today but I did not. I am going back tomorrow for blood work, ultrasound, and with a trigger shot.

I have never had a follie measure this large before wanted to know if I should be concerned. Has any one else have a large measured follie like this? Looking forward to seeing my regular RE tomorrow.

(I am sorry for posting here but I know on the TTGP there aren?t many medicated cycles I am 7 months TTC with my RE)

Re: mid cycle check

  • Siggy

I do not have any experience with follies getting this large, but if your RE said not to worry then I wouldn't. He certainly should know the best for you.

  • The biggest I've ever gotten was 22, but I agree with PP. if your RE says it's ok, then it's probably ok

  • When I cycled with my OBGYN, my follie was 27 mm on CD 12 and I didn't ovulate until CD 15 he doesn't use triggers so it could have easily been 30 mm when I ovulated. I think my last cycle I had a 28 mm follie when I triggered.

I was worried about my follies being too big and I asked the first RE not my current RE about it. She said clomid can make your follicles larger. I am not sure I trust her though since the reason I left her was because she wanted me to do unmonitored clomid cycles. I've had large follies with my current RE and he was never concerned.
