Pulled or torn muscle?

Hey ladies! Wondering if anyone's had this, too.

We just got back from vacation and had a 2hr then 4hr flight. Towards the end of the 4hr flight I felt a sharp pain about 4 inches above my belly button, right in the center. Tender to the touch like a bruise and sometimes gets worse when I take a deep breath or move a certain way. Called the L and D triage nurse. She said it sounds like a pulled muscle but come in if it gets worse, have bleeding, etc. Sometimes even just sitting it hurts.

I've put a warm towel on it for now...has anyone had a pulled muscle this high up before?

Isn't pregnancy weird? I have not experienced this, but it blows my mind how many things can be 'perfectly normal'.

Haha I know! My younger sister said pregnancy sounds complicated! So much :Oh that's normal BUT...:

Sounds like it's strained. If it were torn, you would be in a whole new world of hurt. No personal experience, but out ab muscles are stretched and strained so much throughout pregnancy, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was the culprit.

Oh thank you! My husband thinks maybe I turned weird on the plane plus the bed we had was not comfortable at all to pregnant me, so I tossed and turned all night every night we were there...blah!
  • Had similar experience while putting 4year old in booster...leaning, twisting and picking up 36lbs! Dr said a tear and just rest! Every sneeze, cough, or poop... Lol lets me know it's there! Feel better!!

My bad...I was doing sprinkler and mobile bumping and just read previous post...mine was a strain, not a tear! I was only half paying attention as I was typing! Hope it's feeling better for you!!
  • I had that a few nights ago and it sucked. So painful! I kept doing deep breaths and moving to try to stretch it out. Kind of like when you have a Charlie horse. It worked!

  • I felt this to and looked it up. It said it was abdominal seperation and it was normal.
