Success after IF

Vacation

I am so hapy to say that vacation starts on Tuesday for 8 days to Florida.  A and I have been practicing nursing for the past 3 weeks and I think we have it down.  I am still bringing my pump along (portable Freestyle pump not the S.ymphony) but am hoping I can limit my time using it.  I recently rented a Med.ela S.ymphony pump to increase my supply and in 3 weeks I have saved almost 30oz of BM wooohooo. I am wondering if you all can help me pack.  Here is my current list.   I am a crazy FTM. We will be staying with my father in his home so a washer and dryer is available along with other amenities.

- tons of onsies (I may have went to far here lol)

- 6 outfits

- a few pairs of socks

- Car seat and Snap and Go (Gate Checking)

- I went on Diapers dot com and mailed diapers, wipes,  bathing stuff, tylenol,      saline drops, lotion and bottles

- Pack and Play already there for LO to sleep in

- I bought a portable swing and had it mailed there because A is in love with the swing and when I can't calm him the swing can lol.  Hopefully he likes it if not it will be returned lol

- blankets and swaddles

- Sun Tent and SPF bathing suit and hat

- portable bath

- Netting for carriers to keep the bugs away

-  Paci's of course

I think that's it.  DH thinks I'm nuts but I figure I better be prepared for the worst. This trip in luggage alone is costing a fortune lol

Did I forget anything?  I am willing to take all the necessary items you suggest because you never know lol.

 TIA

Re: Vacation

  • The portable swing is a great idea! We went out and bought one when we were traveling with DS at 4 months. It was a life saver. You can probably skip the bath tub and bathe LO in the sink. If it was me, I would trim down the clothes by a lot. At two months in Florida DS would wear a ss onesie or one piece short romper every day. In the AC I would throw a blanket on him. Have fun!!!

If you're taking your pump don't forget bottles. I always bring a first aid kit with a thermometer, Tylenol, gas drops, and nail clippers. And toys. And blankets. At that age you migh not want LO laying around on a hotel floor. And I agree with paring down the clothes, especially if you have a washer you can use if necessary. Have fun!

No need for a portable tub. If the sink isn't a good option for you take a bath towel, fold in half width wise and length wise, full bath tub with about two inches of water and put the towel down in the water and lay LO on top. We have done this a few times at hotel and our LO loves it!

    Have fun!
