Pregnant after 35

Very cautious intro :XP

Hi everyone....

35 1/2 and we've been trying seriously since 11/2012.  I had a m/c at 6 weeks in March.  AF is due today (13dpo)...no indication she's coming, 3 very faint lines on 3 Wondfos. I have barely any symptoms.  Last pg, I had glaring positives at 10-11 DPO and very sore boobs, pretty significant cramps.  I've only got mildly sore boobs and faint cramping.  Not sure what to make of it, but by this point in my cycle, I would have spotting at the very least, if not full on flow.

So, my EDD would be 3/3/14.  Hopefully this is a sticky baby! Will be going out for a digi later today, and will call my OB and ask for betas.  My Brain keeps whispering that the lack of significant symptoms is a bad sign.

Re: Very cautious intro :XP

  • Keep in mind every pregnancy is different. I have been pregnant 6 times and each time was different for me. Mild symptoms this early is no reason to think it isn't a true bfp. It can take awhile for HCG to build up in your system. It sounds to me like you have some news to celebrate! Stay positive!
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.

  • Oh, and I am very sorry for your loss. Out of 6 pregnancies this is the first time I've made it to second tri. So I do understand the anxiety and worry. Just try to stay relaxed and let yourself be optimistic, it is the best way to help your body support the pregnancy. Hugs!

  • Welcome and congrats! I'm sorry for your loss - it's so hard and also has such an impact on future pregnancies as you're always "what iffing". I'm at 11 weeks and I'm still freaked out and nervous!

Like others said, every time is different. I have much fewer symptoms than before and I've learned to deal with it.  Correction, im *trying to learn* to deal with it!

Try to stay positive! Remember that you may have implanted later than the first time too.

Try and be happy - but know that many of us understand  exactly how you're feeling

Thanks everyone!  My bb's are mildly sore still and I have occasional cramps. The FRER was positive today and yesterday, the line isn't super dark, though. I have to just concentrate day by day!!!
