I'm sitting at our yard sale getting bored out of my mind. I even miss the people haggling over every single blessed thing. So far we made 108 in 4 hours. Not sure if it was worth the set up.
We made over $1k at our last garage sale, but we were moving into a 2 bd apartment so we sold a ton of furniture and baby stuff. We also did way better in the afternoon.
Not sure if you are aware of these but FB has groups dedicated to selling stuff. They are similar to Craigslist only it's much easier to post and sell. Just search by your town name and 'garage sale' or 'trading post'. I just sold my DH's old stereo equipment on a "Man Cave" group. It's awesome and you don't have to sit in your garage to get rid of your stuff!

We don't have Facebook. I'd sell on eBay or Craig's List if we had bigger ticket items. I just don't have the time to go listing each item and meet with each person to do the exchange. The biggest item was a jumperoo.
We ended up taking everything that didn't sell to Salvation Army.

Good luck! I hate yard sales with a passion.
