Parenting after a Loss

Nervous!

Any moment now my baby girl will be in the care of someone besides DH and me for the first time ever!  Realistically I know she'll be ok, as she's with my in-laws, and she's already 8mo, but ahhhh!  We're not going to really know what's happened while we're gone, and what if she needs us?!  I'm about half an hour away (which will take at least an hour at rush hour), and DH heads to work any minute. I'm going to spend the afternoon biting my nails. I could leave early, this is voluntary (continuing ed for my law license), but this is good for her, right?

Re: Nervous!

  • I'm right there with you, aside from being in the nursery at church where we are in the same building DD is always with us. When we were in California two weeks ago we left DD with MIL and SILs for an hour and a half and I was a mess, so much for getting some time to myself to relax and get a pedicure.

  • ((Hugs)) I'm sorry you are nervous!  I totally believe it is good for her to have her time of being showered with undivided attention by the in laws and good for you to do something just for you (which in turn is good for baby too.)

I do hope the time passes quickly once you can relax a bit.

Thanks ladies! I'm sitting here checking my phone for texts every 3 minutes. The good news is it looks like I'll get out early, so it won't be as long as we initially thought (over four hours).
