Hi Ladies,
We have been using BG 4.0s with just the regular size insert for overnight. My DD can make it 10 hours or so in that. However, she ended up with a rash last weekend that coconut oil would not get rid of. I put her in Honest diapers for a couple days with diaper cream, and have now switched back to coconut oil (still in Honest) and it is almost gone.
For nightime, what are you all doing that will not lead to diaper rash over long stretches? Do I need to stuff an additional insert? Or use a liner? So far I have only used prefolds and covers and BG 4.0s as they come so I don't know about the other options. Thanks for sharing what works for you all.
We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013. We love her to pieces.
We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
Re: Nighttime Solutions to Prevent Diaper Rash?
My LO got a lot of rashes early on and we started using fleece liners 100% of the time to help prevent it. The fleece helps to wick away the urine from his body.
For overnight, I have been using prefolds or fitteds with at least one cotton doubler and a fleece liner under a wool cover. I just bought (today) a Sbish fitted because we have been having some leaking issues lately, so I'm hoping that resolves that problem!
More absorbency should help to draw the moisture down and away from her skin.
You can use coconut oil before you put on her ON diaper too as barrier protection.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
It all revolves around you.
Just red, regular diaper rash. It is almost completely gone now. I just want to prevent for the future without having to do a middle of the night change if I can help it.

this. I think more absorbancy will get the moisture away from LO's skin. The BG 4.0 have the fleecey pocket, so that helps wick away the moisture
I agree. We finally got rid of persistent rashes by doubling up with a hemp insert on top of the MF insert (making the hemp insert the one closest to the top of the pocket / nearest his skin inside the pocket). We love our BG 4.0s, but constant rashes were bringing us down.
