2nd Trimester

Movement

Hey! I'm 18 weeks Prego but still haven't felt the baby move. Is this normal?? My last u/s I was only around 910 weeks and the baby was kicking its little knubby legs but I still haven't felt anything. We go Wednesday the 26 to find out if its boy or girl.

Re: Movement

  • Normal - FTM may not feel movement until closer to 24 weeks.  Also if you have an anterior placenta that would also be another reason for not feeling anything yet.

    What is a anterior placenta?
  • I say normal. I'm at FTM and around 18 weeks was when I began to feel "taps". Around week 22 is when I started feeling full on movement.

  • Normal! My doctor said not to worry, up to 24 weeks is pretty normal for FTM! Also I have an anterior placenta so that makes it more difficult....I finally feel movement but it is always just small flutters.

  • FTM here, with an anterior placenta. I felt the baby for the first time around 17 weeks. I didn't start feeling kicks consistently until about 21 weeks, and DH felt her from the outside around 24 weeks. Most moms feel their babies for the first time around 17 to 22 weeks, so you're perfectly normal.

  • It's normal.  I am a FTM and didn't feel baby move til about 21 weeks and even then it was just "quickening."  By 24 weeks or so I was feeling definite moving.  It also can depend on your placenta.  In my situation I have an Anterior Placenta so movement was harder for me to feel.
