I have never counted anything as teething until I can physically see the teeth, with a temp and fussiness. The rest of it (drooling and chewing) is just a way a baby learns their environment.
But it is definitely possible to teeth as early as 3 months. A little less common, but definitely possible.
ETA: Forgot about swelling gums. That usually happens a few days before. That is actually when I would consider it teething.

I have photos of her gums swollen where her top 2 teeth will be since she was about 3 months old.
ETA somedays the top two especially bulge out more than other days. Somedays they feel harder as if teeth are just below the surface but somedays they feel soft & puffy.
Totally possible! My daughter started teething right around 3 months, 2 weeks later the teeth actually pushed thru the gum line. If your LO is being fussy, I would try homeopathic teething tablets and we also got my daughter an amber teething necklace to help with the swelling and pain. Hope this helps and good luck!
My LO started teething around 3.5 months. I still have not seen whitecaps or swollen gums but she rubs her gums together all the time and will have these days were she is just not "normal". Mommies now what is normal and what is not.
I am so ready to see something so I can stop feeling like a crazy person.
