I will be at least 40 before I am a mommy. ?I know that's not the end of the world, but it was kind of a goal of mine. ?This was our last cycle to make it work in time for my big birthday, and I fear the end is near. ?My temp dropped from 98.6 to 98.1 this morning. ?No AF yet, but probably by morning. ?I've had a good cry and will probably continue to break down throughout the day. ?The good news is we are only one more cycle away from our first IUI. ?Need to call the RE and get on the schedule. ?I don't know how others get through this who don't have wonderful ladies like y'all to vent to. ?I really appreciate every one of you!

I'm sorry.  I feel ya.  If this cycle takes, I will be 40 + 4 months.  It's a little scary to think about.  40 isn't old, but when you are TTC, it makes you feel ancient.  Hang in there!!!

I have an age goal as well, which is 38.  I set that goal when I was 35 and decided that if I did not have a bio-child or was having our 1st then we will adopt our 1st and/or 2nd..

Hey i am sorry to hear about things.  I know i was wanting to be 38, and it looks like i will be 39.  I was fretting it wouldn't happen.  Thank goodness for the OV watch.  So i didn't have to watch and take daily temps.  I hope it all works out for you and hubby.

I know how you feel.  I am 2 1/2 months shy of my 39th b-day so it's 39 for me.  I was hoping it would be mom at 38 for me.

Me too-I will be 40! But I honestly feel about 30,. My mom had the last of us (5) at the age of 40. But she was a totally different 40.

I am sorry! I know all too well how this feels. Do something special for yourself this weekend. Keep your head up. It will happen! Just like PP said it is not always on our time line.

I am so sorry to hear your news.  I understand your disappointment of not making your goal of being a mom before 40.  I had the goal of being a mom before I turned 41 - now my goal is to get a BFP by the time 41. 

We'll just be the BEST 40-somethin' moms. 

Like PP said - treat yourself to something nice - splurge on yourself (before you are a mom and you don't have the time). Take care of yourself.

Sorry If it helps, you look great for 39!!!

I also wanted to be done with kids by 40 but this past cycle was my last chance to deliver on my 39th birthday. So now it looks like I will be 39 when I have a baby, if I'm lucky to get pg soon. I always wanted 2, so looks like I will still be TTC after 40. Never thought I'd be this old TTC but time just crept up on me and I thought I'd get pg right away when I was 37. What can you do, that's life. We have to keep our faith up and remember that lots of women still get pg and have babies after 40. The only drawback now is that we might need ART, which is hard financially and emotionally. Still, it's good we have that option, so many women have babies thanks to IUI and IVF.

Keep your chin up, like pp said, God doesn't always give us what we want when we want it.

Thank you all for your kind words and wishes. ?AF showed up tonight, and I actually held out a sliver of hope that maybe she wouldn't...despite all the obvious signs! ?Anyway, I am already focused on cycle 14 and predicting a lot of BDing on Turkey Day.

Sorry it didn't happen for you this month; I feel your pain-didn't happen for me either! I'm planning on lots of BDing around Tday too, so I will keep my fingers crossed for us both!

I am so sorry believe me - I feel your pain.  We have basically stopped ttc but are just enjoying eachother - no more temps, tests or anything else.  It's been really hard for me but I needed a break.  I am guessing that we'll never see a bfp but we are ok with that right now.

OTOH, I turned 40 in September, so by the time these kiddos arrive I'll be 40 and change! Hey, despite what the doctors say, its entirely possible and you are only as old as you feel.

Don't let the number get you down too much!
