So, I had GD with my first and now again, tested earlier and am now testing blood 4 times per day. I was doing really well, all of a sudden, 1 of my numbers per day goes over.
The other night my dinner went 179 YIKES, should be below 130. Although, I don't think i ate the best.
Yesterday lunch was 137, have been eating pretty much the SAME thing everyday.
This morning fasting was 107. I don't get it. Even my breakfast was higher than normal for me at 127, usually between 95-100.
Is eating the same thing everyday not good? It's weird, any thoughts?
Re: GD Numbers
are you pairing a protein with a carbohydrate ? I was having really high morning numbers and I get weird off numbers when I do not get enough protein with my meals
here is a meal example
breakfast I could have 30 grams carbohydate0-2 ounces meat and 1-2 servings Unlimited vegetables of fat
morning snack 30 carbohydrate and 1 ounce protein
Lunch 45 grams carbohydrate 2ounces meat 1 fat serving and unlimited vegetables
afternoon snack 15- 20 carbohydrate and 1 ounce protein
Dinner 45 carbohydrate unlimited vegetables
3 ounces meat and 1-2 servings of fat vegetables unlimited
evening snack 30 carbohydrate grams and 1oz protein
Thank you for the reply.
Typical meals for day
Breakfast, 2 egg whites, 1/2 ww english muffin with butter
Snack, 1/4 cup cottage cheese and 4 Triscuts
Lunch, 1/2 Chicken Salad Sandwhich + a little more chicken salad no bread, 1 Fruit (may switch to 1/2) 1 cup milk
Snack, 1/4 cup cottage cheese and 4 Triscuts
Dinner, Chicken Breast, Veggies, 1/2 Sweet Potato, some grapes, 1 Cup Milk, and 15min. Walk
Snack, 1/2 ww Toast with Almond Butter, 1 Cup Milk
Mostly the same thing everyday, variation in fruit and veggies, that's about it. I have been having some nights, SF pudding with SF Cool Whip...maybe that has somehting to do with it?
Can you try moving your milk to your snacks instead of your meals? Fruit + milk together usually break down pretty fast which will give you a higher number, so you may want to look at a carb that breaks down slower. t also looks like you may not be getting enough protein to balance out your carbs.
I ate the same thing for breakfast most of the time (rotated between 2-3 things) but my lunch and dinners always varied.
How long are you going between your night time snack and taking your fasting reading? SF pudding/SF cool whip would not have sustained good numbers for me overnight, personally.
