Hi Ladies

We made it to another hump day only 3 more days until Sunday.

How did we all sleep?

What's new with everyone?

Thank you for the history and congratulations to you and your partner for the 24 week V-day!!!

My procedure went well yesterday, my cervix had closed again and no placenta sticking out.  Everything looked great the surgeon said.  Had my ultrasound this morning but still waiting on results.

Happy Wednesday to you and everyone else!

  • Yay, Wallace and family!!!

Day 2 of hbr... I am quickly discovering I am not as tough as I thought I was. I got some rest last night after sending everyone home. It's hard to tell people you just want to be left alone without sounding ungrateful for their help. The OB that came by has decreased the magnesium drip by half and waiting to see how I do. I've had some contractions, but not many. Praying it continues. He didn't measure cervix but said it's closed. I'm hoping to take some type of modified shower when DH gets here. Also, MFM will look at the twins today and do all their measurements. If I'm off the magnesium, I can be wheeled down to them. Yay, in house road trip!

I couldn't help but laugh at myself this morning and thought maybe you guys could get a chuckle too. I've knocked my phone in the floor 3 times. Right after the nurse picked up my phone and walked out, I knocked my phone and tablet in the floor! Then, on the trip back from the restroom my belly knocked over a cup of ginger ale onto my laptop! All I could say was really!?!? Haha!

ETA: glad everything looks good, inn!

  • Sounds like everyone is doing well! Congrats on 24 today! And HBR must be tough, but nice to have someone to pick up your phone! :D

I'm just holding stable here. Nothing too exciting, which is good. There is a small crew of ladies cleaning at our house today, so hopefully we can start moving in in the next few days. :D

10 days to 34, 12 days of SBR. So crazy. Have a great day everyone!

    Warning long and rambling:

Omg this.is.the.longest.day. at 11:45 it felt like 4pm. Now it feels like 5:30. I am going stir crazy. I am in limbo until Monday when I will hit 34 weeks and my Dr gets back from vacation. I don't know what the plan is. They may require a dye amnio to determine if I ruptured. If positive, I will have to be induced. :(  If negative, they may let me move around a bit to see what happens or let me go home. But I won't know until my Dr gets back Monday.

I amso done with HBR. I had an upsetting dream last night and woke up here alone. Now without knowing what the plan is I don't know know what my goal is. It was originally July 1 (35 weeks) but if they may induce me Monday what's the point? At that rate I'd just as soon go home today and at least have a few days at home. I'm just done with this.  I honestly don't know how I am going to get through the next few days, let alone today. My mind is entertaining the idea of just leaving. I realize I've lost it. I've hit a brick wall.

I don't want to be induced and I don't want a c section. I can't do anything about the first if it turns out I did rupture. But if not I guess I can aim to stay pregnant long enough to be allowed to walk around and  give baby 1 time to turn.

Sorry so long and  rambling. :(

  • Nantucket: you're so close, but I know it feels far. At least for me. I hope you get that last surge to finish strong. And that you get to go home, carry to term and beg those docs to get the babies out. No csection, no inducement. You've come so far and have done SO WELL. Hugs to you and prayers that the next days go by quickly, uneventful, and not heavy on your shoulders.

    *Update*

Ultrasound looked good and I was released today.  Cervix was measuring 2.2 which is good the Dr. Said.  Home now on bed rest and will have weekly ultrasounds for awhile.  Dr. Seems to think I can do modified bed rest, however, since newer studies aren't showing much difference between those that bed rest and those that don't.

All this makes me nervous since I don't want to do anything to jeopardized this pregnancy.  Counting down to next milestone, 24 weeks, one day at a time.

    Hang in there, everyone!

If you're nervous there is no reason you can't self impose SBR assuming you are already not working and have TED stockings. At least until you get to 24 weeks or whenever you are comfortable. As someone familiar with analytical methods I don't put much weight in what I've seen so far. If I recall correctly, the article that came out in April mined data from a randomized trial for another treatment (progesterone) and did not account for differences in diagnoses, gestational age, etc. wrt bedrest. As my Dr and many of my nurses have said, we don't have clinical studies proving bed rest works, but in practice we see that it does. I am a (non)walking example of that. :) GL!
