So, we are pretty set on Alice, and hoping for a bfp soon, fx, but I'm having second thoughts. We loved Alice nine years ago, but now I see it everywhere. I had a great friend when I was young named Jan, and I think it's so sweet, uncommon and a bit unexpected. Is it boring though? Which would you choose? Alice feels to me more classy, but Jan feels so simple and sweet. I don't see the name mentioned here ever (I should lurk more maybe) so I'm excited for some opinions!

I like Jan a lot, but would prefer it used as a nn and a more formal name on her birth certificate to grow up with.
Examples:
Janet - My favorite.
Janine
Janice
Jana
Janelle

***cringe*** Jan is my mother-in-law's name so I do not have a good association with that name :-)
However, I really like the name Alice! Very sweet and pretty. I also like Elyse which is similar.
