I was born in Okinawa Japan (army baby), lived in Texas briefly, but mostly I'm from all over CA from Redding to the Bay Area.  I'm currently in central CA, about an hour out of Sacramento... Stockton, CA.

 

The plan is to move to the coast before DS gets too far into school. DH and I LOVE the Monterey/Carmel coast and we want out of the valley.

Funny. We're stuck in the Central Valley Sacramento for now but our retirement dream is to buy a little place in Pacific Grove.

I feel like everyone else lives in such a cooler place than I do. We live in Iowa, great land of corn and flat land o'nothing. But houses are cheap, the cost of living is cheap, schools are good and we are surrounded by our families. It's pretty awesome!

Funny thing is houses in our community are selling for about $20,000 over assessed value right now...we never had a "housing crisis". It's nice our home has maintained it's value through it all! I know in Des Moines our 1,400 sq ft $165,000 home would be valued at $230,000.
