I do like the name Jessica. I know a lot of women around my age with that name, but haven't heard it on a baby in a really long time. Here are some names that I consider similar:
While I normally don't shy away from names that peaked in a previous decade and are currently falling (Dated names) Jessica raises a red flag for me. While I like the fact that Jessica is beautiful and Shakespearean, I can't help but think that it was a #1 name during the 80's and 90's resulting in over 770K girls born with this name. These girls are either already moms or soon will be have babies. Because of overuse, a lot of your child's peers will have mom's named Jessica. That may make your child feel awkward. It's like being a Mary or Susan born in the 80's or 90's. With that said, Jessica is one of the top names in the UK currently, so if you're in outside of the US, it's not an issue.
I love Jessica for this new generation. It never was as popular as Jennifer, I think it's safe!
I think something gender nuetral could even work as a middle name since Jessica is so feminine!

I'm not a fan of the name Jessica. I had a childhood friend named Jessica and she turned out to be not so nice.
