OT success stories?

Hi, ladies! It's been a while since I've posted since my son is so little, but now that he's getting older and his condition is more apparent, I've got some questions.

Andrew is in PT right now, which started as a precautionary measure when he was around 3 weeks old. Back then, he was almost completely refusing to turn his head to the left and since his left side was the side affected by his strokes, it freaked me out a little. Since we've started, his head-turning problems have completely resolved but were replaced with weakness in his left arm. Both his therapist and I have been working with him a lot to help his arm and he's improving drastically. He still moves his L arm slightly less than his R, but we're getting there.

However, he almost completely refuses to grab things with his L hand. He keeps it closed most of the time and is really just not interested in it at all. He chews on his R all the time, but has only put his L in his mouth maybe one or two times. Sometimes, he will grab his L with his R much the same way that he grabs his feet. My question is: Have any of you had success in similar circumstances with OT? We have an evaluation at the end of this month but I really want to know what the odds are that it will fix/help this issue.

Thanks!
