A few weeks ago DS (11 months) had a moderate/severe allergic reaction and was rushed to the hospital. His breathing was never compromised but his face did swell up and hives broke out all over his body. So we are waiting to see an allergist, but due to the lack of allergist in our area, it's going to be a 4 month wait.
The thing is, I can't figure out what DS is allergic to! DS drinks formula fine, but if he has milk, his lips/chin get a bit red and swollen. He goes to DC so I know there are milk products in some of the baked goods, and he seems fine with those, but when I made scallop potatos with some milk in it, he had hte redness again.
Same thing with soy sauce - whenever we have soy sauce, he gets the redness in his chin, but he is not allergic to tofu. I haven't tried soy milk yet.
The one time he was rushed to the hospital he had salmon marinated in soy sauce and miso; he has had salmon before so I know it's not that.
I tried looking up soy sauce or milk allergy; but I can't seem to find any information on being allergic to soy sauce, but not soy; and milk, but not milk-based formula.
Sorry that was long....
