Blacking out?

I have been blacking out and getting dizzy lately. Today it's seemed to happen quite a few times. I'm at my in laws and was walking down the hall to go shower and all the sudden it just got black and I couldn't see anything. I ran right into my mil. Then I had to grab onto the door frame to keep my balance. Anyone else have this?

Re: Blacking out?

  • you should definitely see your doctor, you could have low blood sugar, be dehydrated or many other things that can harm the baby.

  • I would call my doctor on this one.
  • I agree with all the PP's. Call the Dr. It could also be high blood pressure. Not something to chance.

OMG the exact same thing happens to me every single morning at work it happens only in the morning. I think it's lack of protein and iron.
  • Agree with PPs. This one doesn't sound like a normal pregnancy side effect. I'd call just to be safe!

  • I get dizzy spells when I stand up to quick. Or when I'm dehydrated. If I'm out when I get one I grab a smoothie and that always helps. But I would talk to your Doctor too!
  • Happens to me all the time.... With my last pregnancy and this one. No problems for me but like everyone else says can't hurt to at least call your doc.

I'll echo PPs and say to call your dr. nbsp; They'll likely want to do bloodwork as it could be a number of things. nbsp;Make sure you're staying hydrated and eating small meals containing protein frequently. nbsp; Also, have you ever had issues with anemia?

Yeah just minor issues with anemia such as I haven't been able to donate blood before but nothing major! For an update I called and she seemed really calm and answered like it was normal and just said I need to drink more fluids and have small snacks between meals

BP drops in 2nd tri and I am definitely dizzy if I stand up too fast. Never blacked out though. You should call your Doc for sure!

I was going to say low blood pressure too. I have been a little lightheaded if I get up too fast from my beached whale position on the couch, but not blacking out. I'd get checked out for sure.

This happened to me...Dr. Said it was most likely due to not eating good enough for breakfast(blood sugar) or dehydration. I do t eat much more than fruit for breakfast so that may have been the problem. She couldn't pin point it exactly obviously but just said to eat better in the morning and drink more water.

Havent had it happen since but sounds exactly like what happened this time. Last pregnancy this happened also and I was dehydrated and had a UTI so it's definitely something to call the Dr. About.

  • I do that semi regularly. I just have to move slowly.

  • I always felt dizzy and one morning I popped out of bed and literally slowly fell to the ground and fainted in my first trimester I found out I was very anemic and they put me on an iron supplement

That might be my problem because I'm also tired all the time. Don't have a lot if energy. I'm falling apart! Lol
  • Hope you get it figured out, and that it's just getting up too quickly!
