Anyone else?

Been waking up with stiff fingers and toes/feet joints? I thought with your feet up at night they weren't suppose to swell. They are fine after being up a bit. Blood pressure is good. The hands are a new thing though. Had to give up my wedding ring today. Boo!

Re: Anyone else?

  • I wake up with my feet achy and swollen from time to time. I don't get it. They've been up all night. Maybe those are the days I didn't drink enough water...

  • The stiff fingers are probably from carpal tunnel. Are your hands going numb at night too? It takes me a few minutes of slowly trying to bend them before I can actually use my hands. But I've been having stiffness in my hips and ankles too for a few months now. You should see me trying to get out of bed in the mornings (or worse in the middle of the night), its quite the sight! Embarrassed I literally have to hold onto walls and furniture just to walk to the bathroom!

This has been happening to me for the past week or two... I'm so achy when I wake up and even the bottom of my feet hurt.

I don't think water is my problem though as I consume over a gallon a day... I'm going to bring it up to my OB tomorrow.

  • Glad I'm not the only one. And yes, I too look ridiculous trying to walk to the bathroom at night. I feel like I'm 85 years old.lol.

  • I had to give up my ring last week. So sad.

My fingers are swelling during walks, first it was only when it was hot out but last night was cool and they still swelled up uncomfortably.
  • YES. I asked my OB about it last week, bc I had heard about carpal tunnel, but not this.

She said it's not uncommon, and is usually worse early morning and mid to late evening. Mine had been just in the morning, but the last few days I've noticed it at night, too. Apparently it's just fluid accumulation, just another lovely pg thing noone tells us!! She said for some people it gets worse briefly after delivery, but then should disappear.

  • Wow I thought it was just me!

I feel like I have arthritis in my fingers sometimes. They feel so stiff and sore.

This is exactly what I was going to say!!

If it makes you feel better I haven't been able to wear my wedding band in two months. Makes you feel weird, doesn't it?
