Rec Your Kiddie Pool

My mom has an in-ground pool we'll probably be spending a lot of time at this summer but I wanted to get something for our yard for baby (now almost 6 months old) to use on super hot days.  I was looking at something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=baby%20pool&sprefix=baby+p%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ababy%20pool

(an inflatable "baby" pool, specifies ages 1-3) mainly because it would be nice to be able to deflate it during the winter and long periods of no use.

But then I thought a traditional plastic kiddie pool (like https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11195809might be more durable and maybe grow with her a little better?

It's not a huge deal at about $10 each I could get one of each, but why not save myself the headache and get a good one right off the bat?

  • Neither is really an investment or that durable long term.

The inflatable ones with the padded bottom are nice to use over hard ground or deck because of the added protection they offer.  We got a smaller inexpensive Intex 3 ring pool from Amazon and after a summer of splashing around we used it indoors as a ball pit.  Ours got a hole in one of the rings recently, so durability is obviously limited with vinyl.

The large plastic outdoor ones tend to fade and crack after being out in the elements and storage is an issue.
