Hi Ladies,
I plan on finishing my final pack of birth control pills next week. I know each of us women and our bodies are different, so my question is; If you were on the pill, what was the length of time it took for you to get pregnant?
Ive been on the pill for 5 years, but i have a gut feeling that i will get pregnant right away because my periods were very normal before getting on the pill. And it's just a feeling I have. So im just curious what were your lengths of time to getting pregnant after getting off birth control. Is it possible to get pregnant as soon as a month or two AFTER getting off the pill? Thanks ![]()
Re: Getting pregnant AFTER birth control
31 months
Your cycle being regular before/after BC has nothing to do with how long it may take to get pregnant.
And, uh, good luck with that "gut feeling."
I stopped taking the pill in July 2012 and started TTC in December 2012. I have not gotten pregnant.
My cycles are as normal as they get (27-29 days) and I ovulate on cycle day 13 or 14 (I use OPKs and temp to confirm ovulation).
Cycle length and ovulation day have no bearing on how many cycles it will take you to get KU, unless you have a medical condition that affects that as well as conceiving.....you have a 20% chance every cycle with well-timed sex.
good luck on your journey, if you stick around this board you will learn a lot.
ETA: haha! I thought I was on the TTGP board, but my advice is the same!

Tried for one full year before we got our BFP!

Good luck! Hoping it happens very soon!
2 years after stopping BCP to get PG with my first. 2 Weeks with my second and so far it's been 2 months trying for a third. You may want to chart

I came off the Pill in August, tried without charting, then started charting in November and got pregnant with DD in June (I also got pregnant in May, but it was a CP).
And yes it is possible to get pregnant right away and it's good to be optimistic, but don't get too ahead of yourself just in case it doesn't work out instantly for you. You have about a 20% chance of conceiving each cycle (as long as you are ovulating).
LMAO at your "gut feeling". GL with that.
I got KU the first time ~4 years off the pill (from an IUI) and miscarried, then a couple months later again (chemical pregnancy that time), and now at 5.5 years post-BCP after an IVF, I'm 20w pregnant.
Every single couple is completely different. It could take you a month, it could take you a year.
I've only been off the pill for 2 weeks after being on it for 8 years...so I'll let you know.
My sisters got pregnant fairly quickly after getting off BC, so we'll see if that holds true for me as well, but I'm not counting on it because I'm realistic and know that it's different for every pregnancy.
I got pregnant 2 months after going off the pill with #1 and 8 months with #2.
I went off the pill 2 months ago and am currently using an alternative method of bc. Planning to start trying in August.
Best of luck!
