Just for fun - which is more annoying to you - sippy cups that leak or sippy cups that take a Phd in Engineering to figure out how to put together and make work (and have way too many parts to wash!)?
I was getting really annoyed with the Playtex Straw Sippies overflowing so I bought some Tommee Tippees and there are just too many parts and they are a total pain to get the straw through the opening - not to mention I had to go read some reviews on Amazon to figure out how to get the liquid to actually flow through the straw (thankfully someone out there figured it out)! Ridiculous! So, today, I'm back to the simplicity of the Playtex cups.
But, ask me tomorrow when one of our Playtex cups overflows all over the counter and I'll probably have changed my tune!
Re: Sippy Cup - survey
Leaking cups annoy me to no end!! I don't care about the number of parts as long as they don't leak all over my floors and furniture. Plus, more parts usually means the cups are easier to get everything clean.
I love DD's Contigo kids cups because they don't leak but I have to make sure that they don't get lost with milk or anything in them because it is nearly impossible to get the cups clean. The cups are only two pieces and stuff gets stuck inside the lid if not cleaned right away. However, I will take regular sippy cup round up over continuously cleaning up spills any day.
We have both of those. I love how easy the Playtex ones are but they leak milk out the straws like crazy! Soooo annoying.
The TT ones are kind of a pain to put together but so worth it since they never leak.

I think I rank leaking and PITA to put together about equally.
I can't stand those TT straw cups! We have TT training cups that I love though. They don't leak and are really easy to put back together. I use the straw cups as a last resort, but lately, I will take a dirty sippy one out of the dishwasher and wash it by hand rather than deal with putting together one of the straw cups. I put the straw cups away by throwing all the parts inside and putting the cover on, to be dealt with later (like when DH feels like it, because I've given up). These are the TT sippys that we have:
