Baby Names

Thoughts on sibset

We had our A/S yesterday and found out we are expecting Baby Girl 2, so now we are starting to seriously talk names.

our DD is named Amalia Simone.

I really like the name Isabel or Isobel, because I think it sounds really nice with Amalia. But I know it's really popular. Any thoughts?

Re: Thoughts on sibset

  • How do you pronounce DD's name?  Is it A-mal-ee-a (emphasis on the 'mal' part)?

If yes, I like Isabel together... very pretty.

Amalia is pronounced similarly to Amelia, but with an "ah" sound in the middle instead of an "ee" sound. It's a family name.

  • I like Isobel, but would stick with this spelling. It's more traditional.

  • Love, love, love the name Amalia, and I agree Isobel and Amalia sound very classy together.  I also like Elodie, Matilda, Miriam, or Araminta.  GL

  • I love the name spelled Isabel, but I do think that the Isobel spelling pairs nicely with your DD's name.

  • I prefer it spelt Isobel and I think it pairs well with Amalia.

I would also consider Mirabel.  It has a similar feel and is not heard quite as often.

Other names I would consider are Lucinda, Pilar, Justine, and Ruth.
