Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Teething

My daughter hasn't been really wanting the bottle and we think its cause she is teething, it must hurt her when she sucks.  We tried cutting the solids cause we thought that may be it, but it wasn't it. Anyone else have this problem.

Re: Teething

  • I'm mobile and can't see your age but we are having a hell of a time getting our 8.5 month old to eat or drink much the last week or two... Of course she sleeps like crap at night and since I know she's not eating I feel like I need to feed her if she's up.... So that all sucks

  • FTM here, but our LO's been teething since three months.  When he's on a Tylenol regimen, he does fine.  Do you have something in place for your LO's pain management for teething?  I'm not suggesting to do Tylenol directly, as we were directed by our pedi to start that.  I'm more wondering if implementing some other strategies to help her deal with pain could help.

I've also noticed that my LO just goes through some "eh" phases when drinking his bottle just isn't of interest to him.  We encourage him to drink what he can, and we figure that his body will adjust for these short phases.  Inevitably, he gets himself back up to his regular intake.

  • Our son just started teething. The week or two before the teeth started emerging ( yes teeth he is getting both bottoms) he was eating waay less but I encourage him to eat whenever he wanted and would even feed more solids if that's what he was confortable takingd. He's 6 1/2 months.....one day he didnt eat anything for 6 hours!! We freaked out but he ended up eating. Your daughter will be fine but just keep an eye on it. If she doesn't get a tooth soon I would call the doctor

  • We very often use frozen wash cloths. We freeze half, leaving the other half dry for DD to hold, and she goes to town chewing. Maybe try that, it'll numb him up a bit and maybe make eating easier. We usually do that first then Tylenol before bed if she needs it.
