Ergo Chest Strap

I purchased a used Ergo from Craigslist. I didn't check it out very well until I got home. Then I realized that half of the chest strap is missing. I contacted the seller and she doesn't have the missing piece. Then I contacted Ergobaby and they no longer have replacements. I've searched online and can't seem to find anywhere that carries them. Any suggestions? I am really hoping I didn't just spend $50 on a carrier that I can't use. Thanks.

Re: Ergo Chest Strap

  • You could try eBay? If it's too much of a hassle, you should try to return the carrier to the seller.

Looks weird- I guess they take your order on the phone...

    Or this would work, too:

I broke ours and had to replace it but that was over a year ago.  I think I got it from Diapers.com but I checked now and they no longer have it :(

ETA: if you can't get one, I would definitely try to return the carrier.

I tried the Mamis and Papis one but even though it says it's available online, it's not. I called and tried to order one, but they are out of stock and will not be getting any more. I have placed an order for one through a Canadian site. They say they are out of stock but can special order one. We'll see.

If that doesn't work, I will probably contact the seller and try to return it. I've never used a carrier before so I don't even know what I really want. I didn't want to miss out on the deal, even though apparently it wasn't as good a deal as I thought. Thanks everyone.

  • That sucks. You can probably make one out of sewing supplies, it's just webbing and a clip. I would take it to a seamstress or tailor, or fix it yourself if you know how to sew. Just find some good pics of how it's put together.

I would still contact the seller for not fully disclosing the fact that an important part was missing, maybe you can get some money back?
