Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Please share sleep schedule....

Hey ladies, i am interesting in 6-7 month sleep/nap schedule.  I know all babies are different and i usually just follow his queues but lately things have been off. I think he is teething but I have been saying that for a while. The thing is he is not napping well and hasn't been getting enough sleep. he used to sleep from 7pm to 7 am. Now he won't go to sleep earlier than 8pm. I try to get him to nap after 2.5 hours of been up. In the evening before bed he is up from 3-4 hours. He has always been a good sleeper and would get 14-15 hours of sleep in 24 hours. Now hes getting more like11 since he won't go to bed early and wakes up at 5 am.  I am sure it's teething but it still would be fun to see what other mamas are doing!

thanks!

Re: Please share sleep schedule....

  • During the week, DD sleeps roughly 7:30pm to 6:15am (when DH wakes her for daycare).  STTN 95% of the time.  She naps 30-45 minutes twice at daycare, sometimes has an extra 30-60 minutes at home.  I don't let her sleep past 5:30pm for naps.

During the weekend, she has the same night time sleep, but naps better (daycare is too exciting I guess)... typically takes three or four 45-90 minute naps.

Our night sleeping got MUCH better after her 6 month growth spurt (which happened at about 5.5 months.  No teeth yet, so I'm hoping that doesn't completely destroy everything...

  • Gavin goes to bed at 8 PM and on most nights thats the easy part. Lately he has been up once in the night for feeding but goes right back to sleep after that until about 7-8 AM. Up until recently he has been taking a short nap in the morning (before 11) and then a longer one (up to an hour) in the afternoon around 2. Now he has been skipping that morning nap, taking his 2 PM nap and then wants to nap again around 6 ish. Which messes up him sleeping through the night.

However I have also noticed that he has been more interactive, and he just learned to crawl and pulled himself up on his own yesterday so I think there may be a lot of growth both physical and mental taking place.

As for teething, I wish mine would start. He has been drooling like a faucet for 2 months now with nothing.

  • DS still takes 3 naps/day.

    Wake up 5:45-6am ***

    1st nap around 8:30a, naps 1.5 hours

    2nd nap around 12:30p, naps 1.25-1.5 hours

    3rd nap around 4:30p, naps 1-1.25 hours

    Bedtime 8:15-8:30p, STTN

So in total, he gets 9.5 hrs overnight sleep, plus 4 hours of naps.

*** DS was waking up btw 5-5:15am for weeks on end.  We added a second layer of blinds to his room, and I "trained" him to sleep until later.  (Basically, if he wakes up at 5am, I don't go get him until 5:45am, which is the time I want him to wake up.)  It took about 2 weeks of "training" and now he wakes up between 5:45-6am.  If it's a cloudy day, he will sleep until 6:30am.

  • My LO is going to be 8 months in couple days and he is all over the place for naps.  But usually he sleeps around 7pm until 5am, with 1 awakening, although recently there has been a lot more.  With me, he usually naps around 8-9am, then 12-1pm, and then maybe another one at 3-4pm.  Usually naps are only 30-45minutes.  At daycare, it varies way too much!
