Eleanor with nn Ellie?
I feel like there is a time in life when Ellie is too "cute" and Eleanor is too "old" so maybe go with Elle as a nn?
Just my random Friday thoughts...
I love it. I have a friend with an Eleanor and we call her El or Elno.
I like Eleanor a lot, but I can't get on board with the NN Ellie-- I think it's just everywhere.
I DO however love Elle as a NN, or even Nora.

NerdyLucy:I love Eleanor, and you can use several nicknames----Elle, Ellie, Ella, Nora...
Oh my gosh! Why did I not think of Ella! I love that name but I like it better as a nn for Eleanor!
(FWIW, I hate Nora.)

My Elinor goes by Nora. I get compliments on both names all the time.
I like Elle and Ella, too, but not Ellie.
We are naming this baby Eleanor.
Dh loves the nn Ellie, although I'm not crazy about it, but I know she's going to wind up being Ellie.
That's why I wanted the full name so she had that for when she gets older.

I am fine with Ellie but dislike Elle immensely.

I agree that Ellie is a juvenile nickname, though it's very cute for a little girl.
