Red mark on cheek

My dd is 2 and 1/2 years old. She has a red mark on her cheek no bumps for the past one month. Her pedi said just keep an eye on it. Anyone has ideas of what it could be? We moved to texas from Michigan a month ago. The mark appeared right after that. I don't know if it has anything to do with weather change or extreme heat. Please, if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. thank you.
