I haven't been on this board in a long time - but always have baby names on my mind! I love the name Alex and I am taking a guess that the Princess will name her girl (if it's a girl) Alexandria. What is your guess?!

This name is NOT mine, it's not a secret cool name or anything but empathize with me that if she does name her baby Alex how annoying is it if I wanted to use this name if we were lucky or sane for baby #3?!  I know I still could use this name but damn.....please don't be Alex! Haha!

How would her using the name be a huge deal? There are many Alexandrias in the world already, so...

FWIW, I'm assuming they would go with Margaret to honor the queen's sister.

While I think Alexandria is unlikely, Alexandra's not uncommon in the British royal family. There's currently a Princess Alexandra, Queen Elizabeth's cousin, and there was Queen Alexandra in the early 1900s. I think Alexandra's a good guess for a girl.

My guess is they'll go with Elizabeth, Margaret, or Victoria. I would love if they went with Diana though, that would be so sweet.

 

This is assuming the rumors they're having a girl are true.

Alexandra is high on the list for the betting books. And it is a very royal name without having a stigma to go with it. 

Lots of people are betting Diana for a girl, but I think William would consider that a name with too much history and relegate it to a mn position. Elizabeth is likely, unless they don't want a Queen Elizabeth III which also has a lot of history.

I can see them going for something simple like Anne. 

For a boy - I'm guessing Phillip. No other options there.

Are you sure? Everything I read has said they aren't telling anyone what it is. It's all just wild speculation until July.

So I have a minor in Early British Parliamentary history this has only come in handy at Trivial Pursuit and discussing the royal wedding. My guess is Victoria, Caroline, Sophia or Henry or James. Or they could throw us all for a loop and go for something like Piper or Geoffrey.

Diana would be an amazing announcement! Heard that they were picking out dragon decor for the nursery theme....guess that could go for a boy or girl. Either way I am excited for this name reveal!

@Portland1916 very interesting minor! I think it would come in handy more so than just TP or the Royal wedding topics = Fascinating!!!

My guess is Elizabeth, but Victoria, Alice and Diana are also contenders. They could also go with Mary or Anne, but I doubt it - there's a lot of controversial history there.

If it was a boy, I've heard they're leaning towards Philip. Also a very good name! I'm sure they'll go with something traditional, so it's hard to go wrong.

I think Piper would be out.  There are rigorous naming standards that the royal family must pass through... But Geoffrey may be in (which is a name I love, personally).  

Buying blue for the nursery could be nothing. We think we're having a girl, but I painted the baby's room blue, and we have a green crib.  I just liked the colour.
