I realize spitting up is normal. I accept that it's a laundry problem. I've asked our pediatrician and she said the baby might have a little bit of "silent reflux" because she spits up so much yet is happy and content.
I breastfeed and I've tried feeding her for various lengths of time and in different positions. I've tried keeping her upright for a half hour or longer after eating...
It doesn't matter if she ate 3 minutes ago or 3 hours ago... When I put her on her belly, she spits up - a lot. She also spits up just sitting there.
Has anyone tried anything that helped? She wants to be rolling around now that she's 5 months but I am constantly cleaning up the spit up and I literally can't keep up with the blankets I have to keep down in order to save our carpet! We have hardwood downstairs but then I am worried about her rolling and wacking her head off the wood!
Any help or advice is much appreciated! Thank you

she should grow out of it very soon. For now I'd keep her in bibs to try to catch it.
I wouldn't do cereal in the bottle.

Both my kids were huge spitters. DS more so, one of the nurses in the hospital commented that she had never seen a baby spit up so much colostrum in her life, so from day one. It's just now starting to get better. Our pedi said as long as they are gaining and not in pain it's nothing to worry about.
How is it a choking hazard when it's dissolved in 6 ounces of formula? He's two weeks away from being able to start solids anyway and a lot of pedis recommend rice cereal in bottles to help with reflux so why is this any different?
ETA: I did speak with my pedi about this. His bottle is no thicker than normal.

This. Also, I EBF but our ped mentioned that DS might just be overeating. He said that some babies just take in a little more than their stomachs can handle. I do notice that DS tends to spit up more when he nurses for a long time. I can tell when he's overfull because he makes these uncomfortable sounds right before spitting up. And like your LO, he will spit up no matter how long it's been since his last feeding, if he had taken in too much milk. Our ped recommended nursing more frequently for shorter periods of time, but also said it's just something he will outgrow. DS definitely seems to be outgrowing it and has been spitting up less frequently than before. Good luck! Btw, if it's silent reflux, you probably want to get medication since it can do longterm damage to your LO's esophagus.
I have done so, notices she only eats 10 minutes to fill up, and the spit up has stopped.
Good luck
