Good point but I doubt anyone will be dressed too nicely. The temp will be 110+ degrees and these are pretty casual folks. And that's why I'm going with stamps instead of paints. Plus I've purchased little aprons for the adults so they will be spared an inky kicking foot.
Ok. They are not making their own thank you cards from us. This is a make-and-take favor. We, of course will send out our own, handwritten thank you notes when the party is over. These would be a "gift" or favor for attendees to make and use as they please. They are blank cards so I guess I should have simply called them note cards instead of thank you cards.
We just had a trial run at play group and surprisingly it was a success! The hands worked better than the feet. We used My First Color Box ink pads, washable! Found them at Michael's. It was not too messy and the parents had fun making a keepsake. We used pieces of scrap canvas.
I appreciate everyone's opinion but I think the parents at the party will appreciate a momento as a favor in addition to the treats and chotchikies I'll have for the kiddos. I won't force any one to make one so if they think it's too messy they can sit it out.

Cute idea to do at home. Sounds like a disaster for a birthday party.
