    Not sure about the vanilla extract .... but I believe you want the bug spray without DEET.

    I use spray with DEET, this is something I really don't care too much about.

    I think that we have on of those "family" sprays. I honestly didn't look into it too much. It's just what we had. We haven't used it yet this season. 

    This is probably an unpopular opinon or maybe a confession, but although I use sunblock/bugspray sparingly, I don't really worry what is in them.

    We have cutters kids I think. I think recommendation is no more than 10 feet but I'm not positive and that could have been when they were younger. Cutters also makes a yard spray that you attach to a hose that keeps mosquitoes away for a few weeks until it rains. We've used it a few times for parties and it works great.

    Our pedi actually said Deet is ok or to use Avon Skin so Soft. Like others, I don't worry too much about it. I worry more about Lyme disease.
