Just found out that the community is working on getting the funding to build a playground at the local elementary school! It's K-8 and has none. We don't plan on moving, so it will more than likely be the school DD will attend. yay!!
They have a "grass play area" and an "asphalt play area" (with basketball hoops) but it's def not the same as having a playground for a kid!
ETA: I'm also not in love with the idea of a K-8 school, I have a hard time imagining my sweet little kindergartner with 14 year olds! I imagine they separate the older and younger students but it's still hard to take.

Our district school is k through 8 and we won't be sending her there. We will do private or charter. ITA with you!!!
Re: Playground
There are a ton of playgrounds in parks nearby but none at the school. We live in a city neighborhood though so it's not entirely unexpected.
