12w6d pg w/twins -- question

Hello MOMs,

I'm a first time mom and 12w6d pg with twins. I know that during the second tri I should start feeling pressure on my bladder, etc. but this started for me already.  I feel like I have to go pee and then when I go it's not very much.  My stomach feels like there is already pressure on it, especially when I lie down.  Basically my question is what was your experience with the crowing inside of your tummy?  I want to ask the doc to make sure I don't have a UTI or bladder infection or something but I'd love to hear your experiences too!

Sorry for the silly question but I'm so clueless here :)

 Thanks!

  • hi - congratulations! i had the same exact thing - i went into my OB and took a couple urine tests I believe since i was convinced i had a UTI. it ended up not being the case. however i don't think you should let it go...i would just go take a urine culture to be sure. a UTI is easy to resolve but you wouldn't want to let it go. again i think it's pretty normal to feel that you have to go to the bathroom and not a lot comes out (be prepared for third tri it gets worse!) but better to be safe than sorry. GL!

  • I'd definitely talk to your doc about a urine sample. I went several times for suspected UTIs that ended up being pressure from my uterus. However, UTIs in pregnancy are common and should be addressed. It's just so hard to tell with all of that growing and pulling down there! Also, the OB told me to rock back and forth after you feel like you are done urinating. It helps to move your uterus a little off your bladder so you can fully empty.

    Hope you feel better!

I'm 22 weeks and have had 2 UTIs since pregnant, never had one before. They are really common and you'll probably be checked each time you go to the doctor.
